Today its about 9/11. And about football too.
15 years, today, since the way we live changed.
Yet every year, we can still celebrate new beginnings of old traditions.
Here, we make it about basketball, and one team in particular. And that is how it should be.
On the larger scale, however, today represents something else. 15 years ago, we, and the world in which we live, witnessed terrible and senseless tragedy. Yet today, as we take time to reflect and remember, we start a new season of what has become America's game. We, as a people, go forward with our lives through whatever comes our way. Knock us down, and we get up and come back at you stronger.
It's a good day to remember who we are, celebrate what we do, and give thanks for those who surround us. That includes those here.
Enjoy the games. But remember too.

"15 years, today, since the way we live changed."
Add to your above quote,,,
Preceded by another day of infamy 75 years ago - also a Sunday - 12/7/1941. And football is also a part of my memory of that historic day as I was listening, with my Dad, to the Giants football game as the announcements were made requesting all service men to return immediately to their duty stations. The world is indeed fortunate that this great country still exist as a guardian of liberty.

Starting today, in Seattle, TeamRWB is running a Flag very similar to the one pictured here over 4200 miles, to Florida. The Old Glory Relay becomes a bigger event every year. This year 62 teams of Veterans and our supporters will run Our Flag, across this great country. I will get my turn Oct 5/6 as the Flag passes through Tucson. There is a lot going on in our country today that is dividing us. This shouldn't be one of them. If you live near the route, please take a few moments to cheer our Vets onward as we bear Old Glory across America. Just like with our POW/MIA's, this is a date we never forget.

The Pats hang on to win a squeaker, 23-21. Arizona kicker misses a 47 yard field goal late in the game to hand the Pats the win.
Go Patriots!!!
