Doc and the Clippers are far from being ready to give many minutes to their 3rd pick from the draft. But as the 40th pick, Diamond Stone is showing his shooting ability, and another reason why he went way too late.

I only had a chart for the top 30, and I don't think I had him on it.

Doc totally mishandled Jared Dudley and Spencer Hawes, so I doubt he develops this kid any better. Name a rookie Doc has developed.

I know, I know...

No one was asking me, but...

I would have easily taken him at 14 and certainly at 23. Somewhere back in the draft posts I'm certain I'm going on and on about taking him with one of those picks. Of course there's the minor detail that no one in the NBA ever calls to ask what I think either!

I don't know if the Clips will ever give this kid the time he needs, but I think it was a huge mistake by several teams, not just us, to let him get to 40.

We'll see how good this kid may turn out to be, but he may have a problem with Doc Rivers helping to make him much better as development of young players is not Doc's line of work as others have mentioned.

Good luck, kid. Perhaps they will trade you sooner rather than later.
