An odd boxscore and game.  We had 16 TOs and they had 13 steals and yet we won handily.  The reason why is that we held them to 36% shooting in the first and only had 2 TOs and they only got 1 steal in the 2nd half.  We tightened up our act and executed.

It was the Paul George and Jeff Teague Show for them.  I really like Thaddeus Young, I always have, but he didn't have a Holy Shit! game.  Guys, he's left-handed.  Very.  Don't ever overplay T. Young to spin to his right because he is always going to end up going back to his left.  If we remembered that Young would have had half the 8 points he got.  Miles Turner is a real bright light for them but he was a non-factor last night as our bigs dominated him.  Part of the reason why Jeff Teague had such a good game is because it was obvious they wanted him to go right at IT, and it worked.

Lavoy Allen, on the other hand, was a force.  He ended up with 14 boards, 9 offensive.  He the throw-in that moved Evan Turner from Philly to Indiana for Danny Grainger.  Funny how those throw-ins can make the deal look good, huh Jae Crowder?

A nice rebounding game, not great.  43 vs 45, so we lost this battle but only by 2 and that's not significant.  We've improved significantly in this area.  I credit that to the return of Avery Bradley (although we were a shitty rebounding team in the first half of the year when he played), Jae and Kelly.  Jae I can understand, he's aggressive and built like an NFL linebacker, but Kelly?  Where the Hell did this guy come from?  8 rebounds last night and, just like against Washington, he was fighting for them in traffic.  11 points on 5-6 and 1-1 from 3.  4 assists.  For us to go anywhere in the playoffs we need this Kelly.  Yeah, we need everybody else to do their job too but winning in the playoffs is about executing better than in the regular season.  Players increasing their /minute production.  We need this Kelly in the playoffs.  It is all about confidence with him.  I have no idea how a 7' professional basketball player in the toughest league in the world can not have confidence, but there it is.

They've been getting Al involved in the offense early, from the low post, and it has been working.  His entire game is better when they do this.  It has taken Brad almost the entire season to tweak the offense to make this happen but we're getting good results.  Another solid 15/8/8 game from Al.  He made be a glue guy, but he's Gorilla Super Glue.  Part of Brad's tweaking is that he is staggering the shifts of Al and IT.  After the opening shift he's trying to have one sitting while the other plays until the final minutes so he always has an offensive player or offensive glue player on the floor at any time.

Bradley guarded Paul George for most of the night, with Smart getting the other shift.  Neither had great luck with him as he just shot over them, but he didn't get many shots at the rim, only 2 in the paint all night.  One elbow jumper and the rest were all mid-range and out.  That's about all you can ask for.

Zeller with productive minutes off the bench again.  He stays ready, and that's hard.

Brad Stevens said he wants to get Tyler Zeller reps heading into Playoffs bc the Celtics could very well face a lot of size in postseason.

51% shooting on the game.  We are going to win a lot of games like that.

Probably worth pointing out that the last time the Celtics were 20 games over .500, @Shaquille O'Neal was their starting center. April, 2011.

23-19 projects out to 44 wins on the season.  Having an over .500 team without your starting 5 intact is still pretty good.  23-7 projects out to 63 wins.  Consider that we have played more games without our starting 5 than with them and we should feel pretty good about what we have.

If the playoffs started yesterday, last night would have been game 1.  We currently match up with the Pacers in the 1st round.  Gotta love that since we just swept them 3-0 on the season.

With Cleveland losing in Denver we are 1 game back, 2 games in the loss column (more important) and we have a much easier schedule.  Easy?  No.  Possible?  Absolutely.  If we catch Cleveland for first place in the EC when they added Deron Williams, Channing Frye and Larry Sanders and we stood pat at the trade deadline then #BradStevensforPresident!  It also makes Trader Danny look like one cool-hand, steely-eyed Mofo.

#BradStevensforPresident!

Gotta love that one! "Whoever" for President! reminds me of Jeb. Didn't he post that on the Game On! threads or am I confusing that with a different guy?
