2 conspiracy theories went out the window this season.

1. Some Celtic fans believed the NBA will NEVER give the Celts the #1 pick if the Celts have a shot at the #1 pick.

2. Cavs vs. Warriors series will go 6 games because that's what the league wants.

Watching the Warriors, we have to have scoring power to beat them. Fultz is the best first step. Hopefully this result gets Hayward or Griffin to jump here. The path through Cleveland is easier than that through the Warriors.

McCaw was a great pick at I believe #38 in last years draft.

nice swingman with a defensive attitude. I thought he would go late first last year myself.

I have lots of friends who are Laker fans. I can assure you they feel no sense of remorse or humility because they won a championship because Perk blew out his knee in Game 6 of the 2010 Finals. I don't have any friends who are Orlando Magic fans, but if I did I doubt they'd be willing to discount their series victory over us in 2009 when KG was out with his knee.

Injuries are part of the game, that's why you have a well-developed bench, and you take your wins anyway and anytime you can. I certainly do not wish injury on anybody (other than the occasional beat down of DWade). Would I prefer to beat everybody at their best and healthiest? Sure, but we've been on the other side of that equation and so I'm fine with receiving payback too.

Golden State had a tremendous run through the playoffs

Now they have a lot of work to do to build the team for next year and beyond.  Their first order of business is to resign Curry and Durant who can opt out of his $27 million contract scheduled for next season.

Once they get past that they will have to consider what to do with all of the other free agents.  The two key rotation players are Iguodala and Livingston.  They probably will not be able to keep both of them.  I would think that Iguodala would be the key guy but he is coming off of a $11.1 million contract so is he ready to take a pay cut?

Zaza Pachulia played a key role in bringing a physical albeit somewhat dirty presence to the game.  He was making $2.9 million.  I think there are some teams out there that could offer him more to leave GS.  JaVale McGee, Davd West and several other players are also free agents.

GS will be able to keep their Core 4 in place but they will need a few hometown discounts to retain several other players.  The rotation is a key element to their success and when the rotation undergoes significant changes it can impact team chemistry.  I am sure there will be a lot of veteran free agents lining up to jump on the Warriors bandwagon in hopes of securing a ring!

Cleveland on the other hand is living in the luxury tax neighborhood.  They do not have enough talent to compete with GS and they do not have the cap space to sign any above average free agents.  Lebron bitched and moaned about the owner needing to spend money and now they have lost 2/3 series to the Warriors.  Gilbert is not going to continue to spend big time cash indefinitely.  I think they will not be as good next year.  Their Core is aging fast and their rotation is also aging.

It was rockin' in the bay area last night!

Cav fans claimed that "Kelly Olynyk stole their first championship with his vicious and evil dislocation of Love's shoulder", completely forgetting that Irving was out too.  Now, it is clear that dboss is correct, they do not have the talent to hang with GSW and their core is aging.

Durant has said he'd be willing to take a hometown discount to keep Iggy and other core players in GSW.  By that I take it to mean he'd go from $27M to $24M.  Is that enough?  Curry's contract is up and he's only making $12M.  Even with a hometown discount that has to be another $12M or so.  The Ring Wraiths (Zaza, Barnes and West) will fade for greener (as in dollar) pastures now that they have theirs.  Javale McGee may or may not.  He has ADD and probably isn't a starter because of that.  He's only making $1.4M and may be due a raise next year too, albeit not an earthshaker.  Shaun Livingston makes $5.8M and is a free agent too.  The bottom line, however, is that as long as they can lock up Curry, Thompson (already signed through 2019) and Durant they will be able to back fill on their bench like we did in 2007-2008 and they did this year with West and McGee.

It's really scary when you consider that Curry is 29, Durant will be 29 in September and Thompson is only 27.  They are all still in their prime and have several years of playing at this level ahead of them. They have Dynasty written all over them.

I just don't like to win knowing the opponent is hurting.
It doesn't feel right.

If our team is not the Boston Celtics then it really won't matter because injuries is part of the game.
But our team is the Boston Celtics, the team with the most NBA championships.
Saying that the Celtics will win a championship because the Warriors will suffer injuries is not gratifying.
I'd rather the Celts win like in 2008 when they clearly beat the crap out of the Lakers.
That was one hell of a championship season.

It's a different story when the Warriors suffer injuries during the season and they lose to the Celts in the finals.
But this early in the year and we're already talking about the Celtics beating the Warriors because the Warriors will suffer injuries?
