Question??
So, after tonight, the season is over (ha ha) When will the Celtics be able to sign Paul Pierce to a one day contract so that he can retire
a Celtic. After July 1??? I know this is certainly not first and foremost on Danny's to do list, but I was just wondering.

Re: Question??
Better yet, when will they sign him ( you may be right about July 1) to the 1 day contract and resign him to a deal that keeps him in Boston inside the front office where in my options is where he belongs.RosalieTCeltics wrote:So, after tonight, the season is over (ha ha) When will the Celtics be able to sign Paul Pierce to a one day contract so that he can retire

Re: Question??
Supposedly he has expressed interest in returning to Boston. I have watched him on ESPN during the finals and he has handled himself great. There are many organizations that have stated that he would be a great addition to the front office of any team, I am
hoping that this does not become a bidding war!!!!
Bring him Home Danny!!

Re: Question??
Maybe they can sign him to a non-guaranteed contract (not a one day version) and invite him to come to the Summer League to be a coach. Then he can come to preseason and that's when they can retire him during a game at the Garden.
He can spend one last summer as a Celtics player. After the summer, he can move into the front office, if that is what he wants to do.

Re: Question??
Just read a nice piece on Paul and it looks as though ESPN is going to make him a permanent studio host on NBA Countdown as well as some other roles.
Maybe he can still work with the C's as well. No?

Re: Question??
seems to me he likes the limelight. he carries himself very well on those pregame shows. well spoken and pleasant. he might just like this for a while and then get back to the management or upper management. he always said he wanted Danny's job!!!!

Re: Question??
I love seeing him on TV, other than saying we should trade our lottery picks for stars right now, I really enjoy his insights.
He is WRONG on those draft picks, unless were getting Anthony Davis.
