A fun new read about the "worst trade ever."

"The immediate reaction was that it was a home run for Brooklyn, and unfair to the owners who couldn’t spend like Prokhorov. In the annual survey of NBA GMs, the Nets finished second in the category of ‘Best offseason moves,’ garnering 25% of the votes (In other words, one-quarter of the NBA GMs thought a deal debated as the worst in NBA history was the best of that year). Over 75% picked the Nets to win the Atlantic Division."

To be fair, this is probably the same perspective Danny and Wyc had in 2007 when they traded our future for Allen and then KG.  We were going to win, we were going to back fill behind them with talent who would come for the ring and if that helped Minny and Seattle/OKC then F them.  It worked for Danny and us, it didn't for the Nyets, but not that much different otherwise.  In fact, with Deron and Lopez and Johnson already in the fold their position was stronger than ours.  Sometimes it's better to be lucky than good.
