Trade brewing?
Celtics and PHI. Possible parts are Saric and (maybe) Embiid........per hoopshype:
Marc Stein: League sources tell @Zach Lowe and me that the Sixers and Celtics are in serious talks on a trade involving the No. 1 overall pick. – via Twitter ESPNSteinLine
Draft, Trade, Boston Celtics, Philadelphia 76ers

Re: Trade brewing?
Felger and Mazz are saying the deal with Philly could set the stage for a trade for Butler. Plus about 5 other scenarios.
I know, consider the source..... but it is fun to speculate.

Re: Trade brewing?
What do you think??? They are not giving too much information on local tv here in Boston. Is this the beginning of a trade with Chicago?
Is this all just rumors being tossed against the wall. I will believe it if Wojo throws it out there

Re: Trade brewing?
Please , do not even quote Felger and Mazz!!!! Both idiots!!!!
They have no basketball knowledge.
We are talking about redundancy at the small forward position. What happens to Jaylen??
Kevin O'Connor is spitting up all over himself right now

Re: Trade brewing?
Well of course DA is getting calls and deals are being proposed. I heard a rumor that Magic wants Fultz. Said he had a killer workout and that Jackson was bad. Who knows.

Felger and Mazz are both morons. But the internet is permeated with ridiculous trade rumors that have no factual basis.
I will be so happy once the draft is over.

Re: Trade brewing?
If the Celtics trade down to 3 someone on this board will be happy.
The rumor is rather sketchy but I would think it would have to be part of a multi team trade.
DA said he would not trade the pick unless we were going to get an elite player. Anything less than that will be questionable.

Re: Trade brewing?
Well, I read a tweet ( a first for me) from Steve Kyler, who stated there is a good reason for Ainge to drop down, and a good reason for no players - at 3, they have a 31 mill max contract space available (good bye KO)........but not at #1

It's all but done pending Fultz's physical. Danny was never a Fultz guy, always a Jackson guy.

No player, more picks???????? Jackson didn't come in here and work out, cancelled his workout? Why? Something just does not pass the sniff test here.

Re: Trade brewing?
If the Celts are getting the #3 pick this year and the Lakers' 2018 pick, that's a lot!
Jonathan Wasserman: Hearing this could wind up being a 3-team trade between Philadelphia-Boston-Chicago including Butler, Okafor and lots of picks

Re: Trade brewing?
The good news is that all this chatter is happening because we have assets of value. Think we'd be talking about draft day trades if we were picking #30? The more valuable the asset the more valuable the incoming asset(s) and a #1 pick is just one step below a young all-star. No matter what, we win (unless Danny really f's up).
If Woj is reporting "serious talks" then they are serious. I wouldn't bet a bucket of warm spit on what most of those idiots say but Woj is rarely wrong, and when he is he can usually explain exactly where the breakdown happened.

Re: Trade brewing?
If Celts can get Jimmy Butler in a trade, Ainge can then sign Blake Griffin.
That's 2 star players.

The ping pong balls bounced the right way and gave us an extra top 10 pick, basically.

Re: Trade brewing?
DON'T DO IT DANNY!
WHY DO YOU THINK ALL THESE COCKROACHES ARE COMING OUT AND CALLING YOU.......FULTZ IS THAT KIND OF SPECIAL PLAYER.
112288
PS
When Bill Torrey of the New York Islanders had the number #1 pick which turned out to be Denis Potvin...........everyone including the GM of the Montreal Canadians - Pollard were offering Torrey the world and a kings ransom for the #1 pick. Torrey kept the pick and selected Potvin..............the rest as they say was history..........4 straight Stanley Cups and one of the great quarterbacks on the power play and one of the all time great defensemen.
Fultz could be our next great quarterback of the team in the likes of Cossey !

112288,
Red traded the #1 pick to GSW for the #3 pick and Robert Parish. The rest is history.
If Danny likes Jackson and Magic likes Fultz, why not trade the #1 to the Lakers for the #2 and Randle (or whomever) instead of just taking Jackson? If there is someone 9n the Lakers he likes and he isn't hot on Fultz then why not? Same with Philly.

Re: Trade brewing?
Bob,
That begs the question................who was considered the #1 pick that year? Second question, was that pick/player as talented as Fultz?
