Celtics release summer league roster

The Celtics will start summer league play against the 76ers on July 3 at 7 p.m. in Utah.

Jaylen Brown, the 2016 No. 3 overall pick will play alongside 2017 No.v3 overall pick Jayson Tatum and all of the second-round draft picks, Semi Ojeleye Kadeem Allen and Jabari Bird. Scoochie Smith of Dayton signed as a free agent while Trevor Thompson of Ohio State, and Landen Lucas of Kansas also went undrafted the most recent draft and have been given the opportunity to play with the Celtics this summer.

Three of the 2016 draft picks will also take the court this summer. The first round 7-foot Ante Žižić from Croatia and second-round guard from Notre Dame, Demetrius Jackson will be joined by Abdel Nader of Iowa State who spent a year in the D-league with the Maine Red Claws. Rosco Allen, a small forward from Hungary, and Perrin Buford from Middle Tennessee went undrafted in 2016, but will also appear in the summer league competition.

Terran Petteway went undrafted in 2015, but signed with the Hawks for that summer league. During 2015-16 season, Petteway played for the Fort Wayne Mad Ants, a D-league team, and averaged 11.6 points and 3.5 rebounds. Scott Wood, a former North Carolina State player, went undrafted in 2013, but joined the Lakers for the 2014 summer league before heading to Spain for two seasons. Wood signed with the Warriors in 2016, but was waived and moved to the D-league.

The Utah summer league will run from July 3 until the July 6. After Utah, the Celtics will head the Las Vegas for games from July 7-17.
