Celtics have hired Art Horne to be head athletic trainer, per league sources. He replaces Ed Lacerte, who had been with BOS for 30 years.

Horne, a local Northeastern grad, joins Boston after two seasons with the Atlanta Hawks. Lacerte and s+c coach Bryan Doo have left the C's.

Before the Hawks, Horne was at Northwestern University. Per the Hawks website:

Horne comes to the Hawks from Northeastern University, where he was Director of Sports Performance, with oversight of the development and care of all varsity student-athletes, while serving as the Athletic Trainer and Strength and Conditioning Coach for the men’s basketball team. He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Athletic Training and Physical Education with a teacher education certification from Canisius, and also holds a Master’s Degree in Education from Boston University.

MY NOTE:  He worked for the Atlanta Hawks before this, so Al Horford must know him and probably had nice things to say about him.  He was hired by Atlanta in 2015, so he worked with Horford for just one year.
