Nah, I don't like even the thought of adding Wade to the Cs roster. Too old, too slow to play point and too small to play forward even if he can find a way to remain healthy.

I also think that two NBA big men are not enough for a completely roster for 2017-18. Not sure that Theis and Yabusele can handle guys like Gasol, Drummond, Towns, Embiid, Lopez, etc quite yet. Perhaps in 2020-21 no one will have a need for any center type guys, but now we still need more than just Baynes and Horford.

If Chicago does a buyout with Dwyane Wade, could he end up in Boston?

Although the Celtics were eliminated by the Cleveland Cavaliers in five games, they are fresh off a 53-win season, which was good enough for the best record in the Eastern Conference. With the addition of Gordon Hayward, the Celtics are one of the few teams in the East that is capable of giving the Cavs a run for their money.

Adding Wade to the mix won’t necessarily help the Celts leapfrog over the Cavs, but at least Wade would be playing for a ball club that is primed for another deep postseason run.

Don't think Danny is not at least pondering this. This is the reason he has not yet filled that final roster spot. He feels there is no hurry, and he can wait for players that are bought out or waived by other teams.

The very thought of Wade in green makes me want to throw up in my mouth.

Ok dboss - what's your choice - Wade to shore up the back court - or no stomach distress ?

Dwane Wade is one of the biggest douchebags in the NBA and does nothing but take minutes away from others who will actually be here and contributing when the Celtics are ready to make a real run. NO THANKS.

True.

I think Marcus Smart can be an impact player like Wade.
Smart just needs to be more consistent.
We witnessed one of the best performances in the playoffs last season in Game 3, against the Cavs, from Marcus Smart.
Smart was awesome in that game.

I don't think that Smart will ever be as good as Wade on the offensive end.

But I have always said Smart DOES remind me of Dennis Johnson.

https://www.basketball-reference.com/play-index/pcm_finder.fcgi?request=1&sum=1&player_id1_hint=Marcus+Smart&player_id1_select=Marcus+Smart&player_id1=smartma01&y1=2017&player_id2_hint=Dennis+Johnson&player_id2_select=Dennis+Johnson&player_id2=johnsde01&y2=1979

Obviously, Smart has a way to go , to reach Johnsons' Level still

Please God.....NO. He's a jerk, and he always has been. Needs to go to dysfunctional CLE with James and Smith and the rest of the thugs.

"The Bulls were worse when Wade was on the court. Chicago had a minus-2.4 net rating with Wade and a 2.1 net rating without him, per NBA.com.

Those numbers illustrate why Wade's next team should give him a more limited role in its rotation. If he is asked to carry too heavy a load, signing him will likely prove to be counterproductive.

As long as Wade is willing to accept coming off the bench, he could be a strong addition for any contender ahead of the regular season."

In honor of this buyout let's remember DWade's defensive effort in the playoffs last year.

Nice one, Bob. He's just standing there doing nothing.
Heard OKC is interested - that's ok.
He'll probably end up in CLE, though, bringing JR off the bench, with Crowder, and, eventually, IT.

Seems likely that Wade ends up in Cleveland. In today's news conference Lebron indicated that he wants Wade to join the Cavs but it is up to Wade clearing waivers and Cavs management

I don't have much respect for Wade. Yes, he is talented and had his day as a dominant player, but he's dirty.

Dwyane Wade is nearing a commitment to sign with Cleveland and could finalize decision as soon as Wednesday, league sources tell ESPN.

well, they've loaded up for one last run with the King this year, it seems.

I hope the medical staff has hired extra help for that bunch of old timers.

Cavs will be so weak on defense if Wade, Love, and IT are on the floor at the same time.

I think the Celts can beat the Cavs in this season's playoffs.

There's just too big a drop-off in star power from losing, Kyrie.

If Isaiah is 100% then it would be a different story.
But what the Cavs have right now is just like what the Celts had in 2011 when they added Jermaine and Shaq to an already aging team.

Wade, IT, Crowder and Rose will more than make up the production from Irving.
Cleveland is still the team to beat but Boston will push them.

The Cavs will probably cut Kendrick Perkins to make room for Dwyane Wade in camp; a larger roster move would be needed later

IT is not 100%.

Wade is now so bad on defense.

Rose is damaged goods.

Crowder is decent.

No way they will more than make up the production from Irving.

Look what happened with Shaquille when he came to the Celts - after a few games - ridicule towards Shaq turned to cheers. The changing of jersey color can often times prompt a different view towards a player. I wouldn't be surprised if some Cleveland fans with similar feelings towards Wade as some Celtic fans, were to have an attitude change toward Wade if he became a positive contributor to the Cavs.

Swish, just wondering if by chance, when you say if wade were to "become a positive contributer to the cavs" you meant possibly tring to rip off an arm at the elbow of a celtic?  Or something similar.
