We play those Hawks tomorrow.

Hawks were 1-8 before that win.

I cannot agree with you about Morris. I think he brings something to this team that we need.  I never see Tatum becoming the bully on the floor.  Much different kind of player.

I think he stays too but he might not if his shooting never improves.

Maybe we want him to shoot badly for one more year so his next contract isn't outrageous. He's not really a starter on a title team until he shoots better. He is worth $10 million? He might be offered $20 million by another team, then what happens? I think we didn't keep Turner and Olynyk because of money.

Rozier will also eventually end up on a clock. He has not improved much as a point guard. So Smart continues to have the edge over him. It is getting to the point where the guys making the money better produce for that value. Then you hope the rest of the roster is filled with promising young players and seasoned vets not worried anymore about big paydays.

Danny faced such decisions with Evan Turner, Bradley and Isaiah and decided to go another route.

We didn't keep Posey and Tony Allen. It's the new NBA. Players are deciding more where they end up. Contracts are shorter.

It will be interesting what happens over several seasons. We are fans of one of the few teams with authentic hope for deep into future years.

I think the one that bothered Danny more than others is losing Bradley. He knew he would not be able to pay him at the end of the year and after the deal was made for Hayward it was impossible. But Danny loved Avery's game.   Turner....it was fairly easy....he was Never going to pay him big money.

As far as IT is concerned, it was just something that happened so fast that it wasn't until after it was done that he really felt bad. But Kyrie is an upgrade, period.

It has to be difficult if you draft these guys, form relationships and then have no choice but to let them go

I like him. I just think he's overrated and an easy type of player to find or develop.

He is good for this year because yeah Tatum is too young. Theis and Ojeleye look tough. Baynes is tough.

He does bring a Perk level of sneering, so I will stay open-minded and root for him.

Brad should take a TO.  A couple of bad possessions by us.  Unnecessary 3s.  Two opportunities to take :40 off the clock and croak them.

I agree.  Danny always loved Avery.  When everybody was down  on his shooting in his first two years Danny was very forceful in his defense of Bradley.

agreed Pierce had a lot of strength that Tatum doesn't have yet

When Tatum builds up for next season, Morris will definitely become overkill. But I get how everyone is glad he's on the team.

I think you're right Jaylen might be an all-star this year. He is clearly getting Avery Bradley's shots. Kyrie is very unselfish, as is Al. Tatum looks extremely unselfish. Jaylen might become the Pierce main scorer. It's true he needs to clean up his free throws. And Marcus Smart is on the clock. He's got right now to prove he is a Celtic. Maybe Danny trades him soon seeing Brown and Rozier are getting it done. That would move Larkin back into the equation.

The Cavs are cooked. They can't trade or do much. The Brooklyn pick might not be that great. LeBron leaves, they keep it. If he stays, they are trading the pick.

Danny has so many assets to work with.
Where did you get that Marcus Smart is on the clock? I highly doubt. Moving Larkin into the equation. Larkin hasnt made a basket in a month.

+1
Tuner got a contract worth around $70m, IT was talking about that brinks truck - both no brainer decisions. Question remains if IT trade was for an injured player or damaged goods for the Cavs.

I am not worried about Golden State long-term. How are they going to keep all those all-stars and top rotation players indefinitely?

Danny is a great GM. He is cold like Belichick when he has to be, but it's not like he's been trading guys to Siberia. We will always have these questions. In a few years Brown and Tatum will need new contracts. Baynes could be here today and gone tomorrow. I don't like it, but there is a certain reality to the sport due to money. I was surprised Isaiah took it so hard. He was traded to Cleveland! A title contender with LeBron. Danny hooked him up.

If Isaiah wanted to stay, he had to become family with Danny and stifle it with Brink's trucks and it's all about me fourth quarter time.

Maybe the trade still happens. Danny gets the big bucks to decide who stays and goes. He has been perfect since the end of the Big Three 2.0. He got better at GM.

Kyrie has to be feeling pretty good right now with his decision. It is now proven how important he was to that Cleveland team.  To have the Celtics starting out the way they have is a good sign.  God, if Hayward hadn't gone down what would we be watching as far as scoring!!  They look good for a bunch of guys who hardly knew one another a few months ago.
LeBron must be cursing Kyrie right now.  Think they will trade him??? One way of getting something for him.

The Comments from the Other Side tomorrow will almost certainly claim how they'd have won if Elf Payton had played.
