The part that is cut off in the right are their ages: 19, 27, 29, 26, 27, 30, 26 respectively.

Re: Jayson Tatum
His numbers are staggering. After the first 2 or 3 games, the stage fright was shaken off.
He's currently playing better than anyone else in his draft class.

Yes, including last night's performance. The pic was as of before Milwaukee.

Jayson Tatum Makes Celtics History With Monster First Quarter Vs. Bucks

BOSTON — Sometimes it’s hard to remember that Jayson Tatum only is 19 years old.
The Boston Celtics forward has exceeded expectations in his rookie season, and his performance in the first quarter against the Milwaukee Bucks on Monday proved to be one of his best showings yet.
Tatum was lights out in the opening 12 minutes at TD Garden, sinking all four of his 3-point attempts en route to 14 first-quarter points.

The C’s appear to have struck a gold mine with their No. 3 overall pick in this year’s draft.

MY NOTE: People are always coming up with stats about how so-and-so is the only player to do something on a Tuesday night in February when the temperature was between 30-34 degrees. You can narrow a stat down so far that it loses context, and maybe this is one of those times, but anytime you can be mentioned in the same breath as Paul Pierce that's something. It might not be record-setting, but it's special. It blows my mind how phlegmatic about everything basketball he is. I'm reading that, with everything else, he's just another 19 year old, but when it comes to basketball he's an old soul. Nothing fazes him, nothing intimidates him and nothing really excites him neither. Just another day in the office.
The NBA is a league of copycats. When Danny put together the last Big 3 everybody started doing it (first Miami, then GSW, then Cleveland when LeBron returned). When GSW showed how position-less small ball can win championships, everybody started going that way, including Danny. I wonder if GMs are going to start drafting for character like the way Danny and Brad have been doing with Smart, Rozier, Brown and Tatum?

Good question.
I would welcome a trend like that.

Re: Jayson Tatum
How can the Celtics get Jason Tatum more scoring opportunities?
After 25 games it is quite apparent that he may be ready to take on a bigger role on this team.
He has played 25 games and has scored in double figures 23 out of those 25 games. The two games where he did not score in double figures he had 7 points and 11 rebounds and 8 points and 9 rebounds.
He is only averaging 9.1 shots per game.
Kyrie and Marcus are the two guys that have the ball in their hands most of the time. They both run excellent high P and R with mainly Al Horford and Theis.
It may be time to throw in a new wrinkle with Tatum as the roll guy. We saw some of that already but not enough. Tatum is a cold blooded scorer and is currently our best shooter from deep. He is an excellent free throw shooter and has the ability to take his man off the dribble.
Simmons will likely get ROY but no doubt in my mind that Tatum is the best scorer that came in the draft. Fultz has the injury situation to contend with and he is slated to be a dynamic scorer as well except he is a poor free throw shooter. Tatum is solid inside and outside at the line and mid-range. There is a completeness to his game that defies his experience and age.
Would like to see Boston get him at least 12 FGA per game. He said in an interview that he worked on his shooting from deep because that was a knock against him. I had my doubts that a 34% shooter from deep in college would be able to become a deadly 3 point shooter in the pros. Boy was I wrong. Now I heard Brad mention that during the predraft workout Tatum shot the ball well from deep. Jason Tatum is the best draft pick that Danny Ainge has ever made. There are 2 things to consider. First Tatum is very talented and second Danny got paid to draft Tatum with another potential draft lottery pick. One can only imagine the level of control it must have required for Danny not to bust out laughing during the negotiations with Philly.
After the pick was made Danny told the world that Jason was his target all along. Once again Danny handed the other team the shitty end of the stick and they took it unaware that they got the wrong end.

Re: Jayson Tatum
Dboss,
Marcus shoots 5.0 two point attempts per game and averages .320% on those shots.
He attempts 4.7 three point attempts per game and averages .296% on those shots.
Jayson tries 6.0 two point shots a game and nails .510% of them.
He attempts 3.0 three's a game and makes .513% of them.
Marcus is a four year vet. Jayson is a rookie.
Are you daring to suggest that Marcus shoot less and Jayson shoot more?

Most points by a BOS rookie through the team's first 25 games in franchise history (via @celtics_stats):
1. Bird - 454 (1979-80)
2. Cowens - 446 (1970-71)
3. Radja - 379 (1993-94)
4. TATUM - 348 (2017-18)
5. Pierce - 333 (1998-99)

MY NOTE: Pretty amazing stuff, especially when you consider that Pierce was on a team that needed him to shoot as often as possible (if for no other reason so it wouldn't be 'Toine, a man who famously declared that the reason why he takes so many 3s is "because there are no 4s". He averaged 32.5% from 3 career). Tatum has to share the ball with Irving, Brown, Horford and Morris, not to mention that if he shot without conscience Brad would NOT be happy. Pierce had Rick Pitino for a coach, a guy who fed 'Toine's lazy and undisciplined approach to basketball.

Yes, and Dino Rajda enjoyed the cardio-vascular benefits of smoking one cigarette after another right after practice, a boost which Jayson has been denied in this new wussified NBA.

I am suggesting that Boston should get the better shooters more looks. If that means that Marcus gets less shots I am okay with that. However I think Boston is playing too slow. I want to see themworcester wrote:Dboss,

Look up the court and pass the ball ahead. We need fast break buckets.

Tatum is not only efficient, but he's a closer. I have faith that he can knock down shots at the end of games.
