Cleveland was at home and Atlanta was missing five rotation players.

and Love has been terrible this year, Cavs can't defend, they are oldest team in league.

I think we are going to Finals this year....miracle if IT coming back brings this team back.

Cow, I'm with you. I also think we'll be going to the Finals, quite an accomplishment considering we are playing without that All Star Kelly Olynyk.

Kyle,

True, this could be a trap game, but you can coach your butt off and you still need the horses, and Atlanta is short a span or two.

Their top 9 minute getters:  Schroder, Taurean Prince, Bazemore, Bellinelli, Ilyasova, Dedmon, Muscala, John Collins, Malcolm Mulaney.

Everybody else is <20mpg.

Schroder's a player, on both ends, but he's the only Hawk averaging >15ppg.  They have only one real "go to" guy and he's going to have to play defense too, probably against Irving.

Schroder is getting 6.6 assists/game but the next highest Hawk assist man is Bazemore with 3.7.  By comparison we have Irving with 5.6, Smart with 5.4 and Horford with 4.3.

As long as we come out focused our horses should be able to outrun their horses easily.  This is game 2 of a b2b for both teams, so nobody has an edge there.  Bazemore played 35 minutes last night, Schroder 31, Prince 36.  Luke Babbitt played 42 (Luke Babbitt?).  By comparison, no Celtic played more than 29 minutes last night.

kyle,

Atlanta may be well coached, but this game may even be more about Cleveland completely falling apart.

If true, it couldn't happen to a nicer bunch of guys.

And as bad as they played for 40 minutes Cleveland or should I say Korver brought them back. Atlanta missed free throws late gave the Cavs a chance to tie with s trey. Bron took the rebound the length of the floor was shut off with s double team an passed out to a wide open Frye,  he's a good shooter but clanked it and that was the game. Love tried to play but left early due to illness.

They are in a funk but it's the first week of November.

Lots can happen to them and to us down the road.

That said I'd rather be us than them!

The Cavs as currently configured are a mess.

Filling the roster with over the hill veterans was a horrible management decision.

James is now very likely to jet because this team will need to rebuild.  He is not likely to hang around for that.

I'll save this post just to see how inaccurate early in the seasons predictions can often times turn out to be. Sure looking good now - but I'll have a better fix in June.

Lots to be happy about now, but it's a long season.

Imagine the doom and gloom when we loose a game against a poor team....or heaven forbid 2 in a row cause it's gonna happen, patience is needed cause we are so young.

From what was said last night, Thomas is out on the floor shooting daily. His return, that was supposed to be January, looks to be coming much sooner. I watched Ian Thomsen on
local news last night. He claimed that he had been told by "people in Cleveland" (we all know those "people")that his
return was pushed up.
I hope for IT's sake he is coming back because he is ready, not because Cleveland stinks so bad right now. The do need his
shooting, but I hope the time is right for him.

Many fans live and die with their team on a daily basis - and it sure can be roller coaster trip. There is an old sports saying - Your probably not as good as you appear to be in a winning streak - nor as bad as you appear to be in a loosing streak. The truth probably lies some where in between.

Do people honestly think that IT will be a 28 PPG scorer on a team with James, Love, Wade, and Rose? Also, can someone please explain to me how IT returning will help their defense? And as a smaller side note, Crowder doesn't look like the same player he was in Boston.

The Cavs haven't got a clue. Tyronne Lue hasn't produced any answers or a change of scheme to help the team mitigate their disadvantages. But their team isn't built for today's NBA. A veteran team like this would have worked maybe 5 years ago, but not it's outdated. Younger teams that aren't even that good are victimizing the Cavs' defense. The Cavs will not defend on the 3PT line, so if you're willing to stay in motion, you'll get easy open shots.

If I was a coach, I'd tell my guys to run them off the damn court.

Gyso,

We don't want them ro lose TOO many.  I wouldn't want them to have the Nets pick and their own both being high lottery picks.

Just enough losses to barely miss the playoffs but each loss by 30.

From the "Too early to tell, but this sure looks bad for the Cavs" Department

If the playoffs started today, the Cavs would be outside, looking in:

But only 1/2 game out, and IT is eventually coming back.

I watched 3/4 of the Cavs-Rockets game last night.  Is it just me, or is LeBron a touch slower this year?  He's still amazing, but it seems like he doesn't have quite the same explosiveness?  Is this just me thinking this?

bob I noticed that too and mentioned it another thread a week or so ago, hes more like a much better skilled version of Karl Malone on his drives, using more and more power....still great, runs over people just like vintage Mailman.

from my eye test there are so many more blown lay ups in todays game than the 70s and 80s. It seems the players are so much better at dunking, they never developed the right touch to just bank it off the rim.
