When I watch Kyrie pull off these insane moves, I always kind of assumed it was mostly instinctual/subconscious. It was interesting to hear how much thought goes into these seemingly split-second decisions.

Thanks, Shamrock.

I still think it is all intuitive and second nature to him. He must have learned those things when he was twelve to seventeen, maybe younger. It's common sense to shoot higher over a taller player for example. So he figured that out a long time ago. Marcus Smart has second nature basketball skills. The key is to stack a roster, have some basic philosophies and work together.

This is why Kyrie left Cleveland. He wanted to breathe in fresh air away from King Diva and roll some dice.

Kyrie gives the C's a legit chance to win it no matter how low the odds due to Golden State's dominance. A lot of people would rather be pessimistic and not give them that chance.

Having a player like Irving that can literally take over and win a game for the Celtics is a huge asset.

He is an ultimate scoring machine that can score from everywhere on the court and he cannot be checked without double team help.

Teams are going to double him so it will be up to his teammates to make open shots.  His job is to recognize the opportunity to find an open teammate.

Not sure this is worth its own thread, that's why I'm adding it here.

Kyrie throwing up some shots after Celtics practice.  Went 38-44, 86%, from 3.

When I went to the Grizzzle's game the other night, they let us in early. We were able to just sit and watch Kyrie practice all of his maniacal shots for twenty five minutes or more. Right side, lay ups with left hand, and right, short jumpers three's free throws, and then the left side.

What he does during a game is no accidental offense. He practices each and every one of those shots. Heck just watching him was worth the price of admission. I loved watching it.

I was reminded of the days when the '70's Celtics would take the floor, practice, and then, after everyone was done and on the bench, Havlicek would take two layups..Good luck shots. If anyone came along and took a shot, it was a real no no. All the years he played he did that.

The reason I mention this is everyone of the good (great) players have their way of practicing, shooting, spacing. It is truly a joy to have a guy like Kyrie, so devoted to his trade, work so hard every game.
