Is The Brow a long-term target for Golden State?

Post by RosalieTCeltics on Mon Jan 08, 2018 2:00 pm

Talk about the rich getting richer!!! No one will ever win a title again if this happens.
Let's hope Danny beats them to it if we really want him. This article was in the Yardbarker . Interesting huh? Curry, Durant, Davis, who will they give up. Green, Thompson????? Good God, this is a sickening thought

Rosalie I found the article

http://www.yardbarker.com/nba/articles/report_warriors_targeting_anthony_davis_longterm/s1_127_25397456

Durant can opt out of his $26 million contract this summer.  Let's assume he resigns with GS for Steph Curry money.  that will take him up to around $40 million.  So next year The Warriors are spending close to $80 million on two players.  Thompson has one year left at $18.9 and Green is signed for two more years at for an average of $18 million.  Golden State would have to decide about trading Thompson and/or Green because Davis will be yet another $40 million dollar player.  That may actually be cheaper than resigning Thompson next year and Green the year after that.

The Brow cannot opt out for 3 years and by that time guys like Durant and Curry will be 32 years old and playing in year #14 and #12 respectfully.

The timeline really does not work for targeting Davis.

If Golden State has the hots for Davis they should try to make a trade this off season.  It would take more than Thompson to get Davis so they would also have to leverage several future draft picks.  That may come back to haunt the franchise in the outer years.

Although they were able to get Durant, he took short money to fit salary constraints.  He will not do that again.

The Celtics are set well into the future without Davis so I would not lament over GS stacking the deck again.  I really do not think they will be able to do it and keep their core in tact.

There is no doubt that Green and Thompson would have to go. Reading what you write, it is going to take some pretty tricky cap handling to sign a guy like Davis. You have to admit, though that the thought is scary. This would be a super, super team. Ha Ha.

The entire western division would want to just about fold if this were to happen.

Did you happen to read the article about LaVar Ball.
Someone really needs to do something about this guy. I think some of it has to by up to Magic and his management. He should come out backing Walton, and putting LaVar Ball in his place. This guy firmly believes he will have 3 sons on the Lakers in 2020. I am surprised he has not lobbied to try to become a coach on the team. He is out of control, and his kids will suffer because of this

Laval Ball is a narcissist.

I do not think there is anything that Magic can do to control his obsessive behavior.

If people especially the media would just ignore every interview and every tweet that flows from his mouth we would not have to even entertain the option of hearing him. But the media loves this shit.

Magic made a big mistake by drafting Lonzo because of Lavar and he cannot shoot. You could see this one coming from a mile away. But it really does not help the situation when Rick Carlisle sees the need to comment and Luke Walton feels compelled to answer questions from the media.

By responding to Lavar's comments you are empowering him to drive the narrative.

The media can be a very destructive force.

Take our Patriots for example. There they are the local Boston media cannibalizing the team. The Lakers could take a lesson from Bill Belichick. Bill tells the media to F---Off all the time.

The whole Boston press is hanging Brady, the guy who has given back to this town every time he steps on the field. He is responsible for Garapolo being traded, he is the reason Belechik is so ticked off, He made Kraft feel guilty and trade the kid. A guy who has done nothing but give his heart and soul to this town, look what they are doing to him. I hate Boston reporters, Felger, Shaunessey, idiots like Tanguay, even some of the Patriot reporters, Giardi, Curran. They are biting the hand that has fed them for 18 years. It makes me sick.

How did you like that they blamed Brady for Hogan getting hurt because he threw a pass and Hogan couldn't catch it and hot hurt on the play. Brady's fault!!!

So as far as I am concerned the more attention they pay to Ball the more he will talk. Someday someone will stop him, maybe his kids????

Rosalie as long time Patriots fans we suffered through so many disappointing seasons.  These media tpyes were not fans back in 1960.

Here they are covering a team with an amazing and historic run and they have nothing better to do than go after the best QB in NFL history.  The same guy that has taken short money more than once so that the team could stay competitive.  7 trips to the superbowl and these clowns are thankless.

Shameful

Rosalie regarding Lavar Ball, his kids love him but at some point they may very well distance themselves from him.

Can you imagine taking your 16 year old out of school and sending him to Lithuania so you can promote your brand?

Very sad and I can only imagine how Mrs Ball feels about having a jerk for a husband.
