Another player who’s shot and gives you nothing pretty much is Kevin Love....

speaking of max players.....I was making a list of players who would make my top 30 NBA players right now ( and should be max players if you assume every team should have exactly ONE max player)

my list is based on current play AND age.

1. Anthony Davis- 25 years old
2. Kevin Durant
3. Stephen Curry
4. LeBron James- 32YO drops him now
5. Joel Embiid-
6. Russell Westbrook- haven't seen player like him since the Big O
7.Giannis Antetokoumpo- one could easily move him up a spot or two
8. Kyrie Irving
9. James Harden- you could move him over Irving too
10. Kawhi Leonard- even after missing most of this year, you have to put him in top 10

It gets tougher for me to rank them from here

11. John Wall
12. DeMar DeRozen
13. Chris Paul- Age is dropping him now
14. Jimmy Butler
15. Paul George
16. Karl Anthony -Towns
17. Ben Simmons
18. Damian Lillard
19. DeMarcus Cousins
20. Kristaps Porzingis

my last 10:

21. Nikola Jokic
22. Blake Griffin
23. Klay Thompson
24. LaMarcus Aldridge
25. Al Horford
26. Draymond Green
27. DeAndre Jordan
28. Kyle Lowry
29. Gordon Hayward
30. Bradley Beal

so that is my list of players that I feel would be worthy of MAX NBA contracts

anyone think I missed anyone?

Kdp

Lillard just got exposed by True Holiday, his worst playoff showing ever. Wall has the same inconsistencies as George, I would include Butler their too. Porzingus is getting ripped by Knick fans as weak and injury prone. There’s too many players like Wall that get a huge contract and it cripples a team and those players either aren’t good enough or don’t have enough good other pieces around them to effect winning....

It actually more. $27,928,140.

What a bargain for someone who can't play defense and whose offensive game has gone AWOL.

Steve, Melo recently divorced the daughter of one of my friend's best friend. When asked why he cheated on his wife, he said, "She was married to me. I wasn't martied to her." Fortunately for both of them he will be able to afford his alimony payments.

Carmelo has been with Lala Anthony for around 15 years. They are not divorced. There was a cheating thing last year on his part but no divorce. OKC would like a divorce though.

Steve, they are seriously separated. Time will tell whether they get divorced legally. One thing is for sure. Melo will be cashing those OKC paychecks next year.

Some players put up high point averages per game simply because of higher field goal attempts while posting suspect effective field goal percentages. Check out the below list of players of the last 15 years who played at least some guard. Note the conditions to make the list. all high scorers - but several with very questionable efg's when compared to the more efficient shooters on the list. Westbrook's rebounds and assist figures per game are outstanding - but I can't help wondering how many games he shoots his team out of contention because of his ineffectiveness from the field.

Aside from the Melo thing, George may have played his last game with OKC.  His body language was bad last night.  Strange because he had some big games.

So I think it is now off to LA as planned and disclosed before Indy traded him.

In the meantime I do not se Lebron sticking around.  Their big trade fizzled so now they have to start over.

James does not have the time to wait around.  I think he too heads out to LA and pairs with George.

Interesting series all over.

Not a bad list KDP, but in my eyes at this point Blake Griffin is no longer a max player.

He is getting up in age and is way too is injury prone. Detroit will regret the move they made this year.

Same with LaMarcus Aldredge.  Good player, much too old to invest max money it.

Kemba and Beal were side by side on my list and I went with Beal for #30.

Aldridge had a resurgence this year, which may have gone hand in hand with the Spurs worst record of course.

Griffin is still a very good NBA player and is 29YO ( so hardly ancient), while hes no longer a top 15 player he still falls in my top 30.

Philly in a heartbeat, IF LeBron wants more title shots. Besides I don't see the Lakers being able to free up enough cap room for TWO max players no matter what the media says.

Just as an aside, when George threw a hissy fit because somebody else took the final shot in a playoff game last year , it was pointed out that he had NEVER made a last second game winner.

Right it’s not like he’s ever been Paul Pierce....

I only mentioned Kemba because I live in Charlotte, he's all they have and I am stuck with the Hornets being my "second favorites" in the NBA. The Hornets will have to max him out for him to stay, although there were rumors of team management trying to move him this season at the trading deadline.

I have been to six games in Charlotte and I have never seen the Hornets win. Most of the wins were by the Celtics (yay!!) and one of them was by the 6ers (during their pitiful process). Charlotte needs a major overhaul in team management (and maybe even team ownership) before they become relevant. I actually hope they get their act together soon, so I can someday see a Celtics playoff game in person.

Lebron to Philly? I know it'd be tempting for the 26ers as a franchise but why would you want to mitigate Ben Simmons? He's essentially Lebron 2.0 anyway.
