That must be what the refs are talking about when they huddle...all this obscure stuff. Between the three of them, someone knows the answer. But they have to see it and then call it first!!

Virginia wins the National Championship in OT!

Very exciting final to say the least.

Two teams share the worst record in the NBA for the last six years at 163-329.

The teams? Your New York Knicks and your Los Angeles Lakers.

Too bad they're both franchises players don't seem to want to play for. The great players seem to want to play elsewhere. And both teams have been run into the ground by inept management. Maybe if the cities were a bit more glamorous and had a bit more to offer? I'm just ruminating here...

Lonzo Ball was about to have unauthorized surgery. Lakers canceled it. Told him they would void his contract. Is there a more dysfunctionctional relationship in the league between a player, his family and reps and his team than this?

In the last two weeks Lonzo has covered up his BBB tattoo, sued the business partner in BBB, fired his agent and hired a new agent.
It looks like Lonzo is now taking control of his life and getting out from under his dad’s control.

While checking out the Indianapolis Star's coverage of last night's game 2 I saw an article that shows Greg Oden is still breathing. Glad to see he went back to college to get a degree and is still working in sports. Too bad the pro thing didn't work out for him. He can always say he was drafted ahead of Kevin Durant. The same way Portland took Sam Bowie over Michael Jordan. Two slightly regrettable draft decisions. Basketball history would have been a tad different if either of those picks were reversed.

Russell Westbrook's tarnished legacy: Thunder haven't won a single road playoff game since Durant left (0-9) and zero playoff series wins.

Also, "Of the 30 players who averaged at least 20 points per game this season, Westbrook ranked dead last in effective field-goal percentage, at 46.8. Widen the field to players with at least 15 points per game, and he's 69th of 70 players, sandwiched between Dennis Schroder and Andrew Wiggins, and behind such scoring legends as Jordan Clarkson, Tim Hardaway Jr. and Jeremy Lamb."

Interesting article on Westbrook - which is very relevant to some stat research that I have been doing on high scorers that rely on high volume shooting to put up high scoring averages - he appears to be an Allen Iverson clone. In my research I also highlight the very low EFG figures that Westbrook has put up - but use his entire career. Two other all-stars (Derozen and Wall) join him at the bottom of the list which was for players that are listed only as guards or forwards. Because of the relevancy of the 3 point shot, I only used the last 10 years where 3 point shooting has had the greastest impact. There's a huge difference in the shooting efficiency between Westbrook and the stars at the top of the list.
