Game-on Thread: Celtics @ Wizards, 1/22/11

Post by Sam on Sat Jan 22, 2011 7:11 pm

Welcome to the game-on thread. The contest for tonight is as follows, and it's in two parts:

1. What will be the margin of assists for Rondo vs. Wall? (Just one figure indicating the difference between the two, with a plus if you think Rondo will win and a minus if you think Wall will win; zero means a tie.)

2. What will be the margin of rebounds for Semih versus McGee? (Just one figure indicating the difference between the two, with a plus if you think Semih will win and a minus if you think McGee will win; zero means a tie.)

The smallest deviation for the total of the two final figures combined will win the contest, whether you're over or under the exact figure.

No suplicates on either guess.

All entries due before the beginning of the 4th quarter.

There must be at least 5 entries to constitute a valid contest.

Change your answers as manytimes as you wish before the 4th quarter.

If you're talking about Rondo, he landed and then took another step for the charge.

What a contrast! One team getting the ball exactly where they want it and making good shots. The other team constantly shooting under duress.

Bobc,

Wasn't it Steven Tyler who sang a lot about a "Big 10 Inch?" Now I know what he meant.

Blachte is trying very hard to start something with KG.

Right now Rondo has 6 assists
Erden has 6 Rebounds total

Wall has 1 assist
McGee has 2 rebounds

Washington is loosy goosy right now, hitting outside shots everytime.
this drives me nuts when they give up so many outside shots

Wow, if you just look at the stats, you wonder how Washington can be within 10. The Celtics lead in every meaningful category, killing the Wiz in shooting % and leading them in rebounding, assists, free throws, threes, fast break points. Only 4 TO for the Celts.

Any others so far?

Jeb,

But the Wiz have a miserable FG % compared with the Celtics and have taken only 4 more FGA. The way they scored their lower field goal output doesn't really explain the small margin.

Finally the Wiz are attacking a vulnerability by going to the hoop constantly.
