Nice going, Cow and Bobc, for starting this thread and the contest respectively. I've been having a bad time with my computer, but it's okay now.

Thanks again,

Is it possible that Kristic will be more of an offensive factor than with his previous team because his Celtics teammates demand so much attention?

Well it is early Sam but it sure does look that way. He looks fundamentally sound.

It's funny, in the pregame interview, Tim Welch said that he felt that Murphy was having alot of these problems with NJ because he showed up for the season way out of shape. Just what the Celtics would need is some guy who has to work for weeks on end to get himself back into shape. Both Welch and Heinsohn said that he really didn't fit this team. I can't imagine that, being 6'11" tall and a good outside shooter.
I would hate for them to take someone on who will end up sitting on the bench out of shape.

Miami has to cut players for anyone they sign, and then they will have to pay the ones they cut and the ones they sign. I thought they had no money to do this.

I guess one plus for Kristic on offense is that he runs the floor very well. Loved the alley-oop to him on the break. A physical impossibility for Perk. He's almost the complete antithesis of Perk on offense, and yet the starters already seem in sync on offense with him in there. Defense will obviously take longer.

I agree with you Cowens. Murphy couldn't even get on the court much in NJ this year. He was averaging just 16 minutes a game with 4.2 PPG and 3.6 RPG. He would just be a warm body to throw to the lions out there if we pick him up.

when KG was on Milsap was hoping we would switch him to Big Al who was on his game, then realized Krstic too slow for Milsap, Big Al not a good match up defensively for Nenad

I was very surprised how good he looked, must be fun to play with 4 unselfish all-stars.

I believe Kristic may be proving that you can't necessarily judge how players will so with the Celtics just based on their performances with other teams. Shaq's another example. While he may be a dropoff on defense, Kristic gives them a dimension they didn't have at the center position. I have to believe the same could be true of Murphy—a perimeter-shooting PF. Any new dimension the Celtics acquire gives them added versatility, which I really like.

And Pumpsie, I wouldn't expect Murphy to play even that many minutes with the Celtics, so I guess I don't see your point. If they do get Murphy (which would make me happy), I'dcertainly hold off on my evaluation until I see him play with them.
