So, the Bulls lost to a team that's worse than the team the Celtics are losing to. How shall we analyze this? Perhaps it is a, what's that word I'm looking for, oh yeah, "fluke". "Immaterial" comes to mind too.

As usual, your predictions are deadly accurate to the point of borderline Nostradamic, Pumpsie. Keep up the good work and we'll be hoisting #18 this June.

No team wins every game Bob. The Bulls had won what-9 in a row? They were down by 20 tonite and FOUGHT to get back into the game. I do not see evidence of that kind of heart, that kind of effort, on the part of the Celtics. Just lethargy and old age.

I have two entries for tonight's contest. Total points, rebounds, assists (combined) by the Celtics.

147 Bobc
160 Matty

Any others?

One thing I wish the Celtics would stop doing is letting the ball roll up the floor after they take it out of bounds. When time is a critical issue, fine. But otherwise, they need to push the ball at all times. Not doing that just gives the other team time to get set defensively.

Sure would have been nice if the team had made a guest appearance tonite.
Hey-I don't mind losing games to bad teams. Not really. I DO mind them not even being competitive. That shows me a lack of mental preparedness and a lack of heart. They don't even care out there when they should be embarassed. Even with losses to the Clipper, Sixers, and Nets they still don't even care. The team is on vacation.

They are now 8-2 their last 10. IF we lose this we'll be 7-4 in our last 11 (I don't know if we won or lost the first game in the string. If we lost the first one, then we'd be 7-3).

That's not that big a difference. You make it sound like we're in a 5 game losing streak like Miami was and who is 4-6 in their last 10 games. You know, the team that you just said is "closing in" on us. Apparently a 5 game losing streak and being 4-6 in their last 10 doesn't count them out, but 7-4 and still being tied for 1st in the EC does count us out.

Interesting math.

Bob, the Bulls are peaking at the right time; we pull a lemon to a bad team-down 29 points. The Bulls nearly came back from 20 points down tonite and had previously won 8 in a row. After this loss we will be 2-4 in our last six. Just a few weeks ago the Bulls were 4 behind us. No, I don't think that the Heat will catch us, but I do think that there is a chance they will do it.
If you cannot see the difference between the way the Bulls are playing and the way the Celtics are playing........its huge.

Time to make lemonade.

A quarter to play the bench, get them some minutes.

We'll see how they come back tomorrow.

Time to turn off this debacle. I am disgusted with this team, the lack of effort, the lack of desire. That has to change, and soon

VCU vs. Georgetown is a good one so far.

Syracuse vs. Indiana State about to start.

Still plenty of good basketball left this evening.

At least we laid an egg on a night when the Pacers helped us out. If we pick up the pace tomorrow this one is forgiveable. Could be worse.

Pumpsie, last season I attended one Celtics game and it was at the end of the regular season against the Wizards, who only had one player on their roster I had ever heard of. The Celtics played so bad, and exhibited such little effort and spirit the home crowd was booing them in the first half, and continued booing them throughout the rest of the game. Tonights game reminds me of that game.

The reason some of us retain some optimism is last season the Cs came within a few minutes of being Champions, and I personally think this years roster is better than last year.

Before I switch over to the Syracuse game I just wanted to comment on Bob's post...

Tough loss. Hopefully a wakeup call.

Hope I don't fall and hurt myself on the way to bed tonight. I predict doom and gloom.
