SAM CELTIC FORUM MARCH GET TOGETHER - BOSTON

Post by 112288 on Tue Dec 18, 2012 12:30 pm

I know its Christmas and New Year's..........however spring will be here before you know it.

A perfect weekend is shaping up on St Patrick's Day weekend in Boston with the Celtics home and hosting the Char. Bob Cats on Saturday March 16th at 7:30pm at TD Garden.

Many participants have expressed an interest in meeting others of the Forum and attending the game which I think would be a great thrill.

The agenda would look like this: Meet early to have dinner around 5:00pm near the Garden, walk over to the game, and after for those interested some dessert or drinks or both.

We will look to go through The Boston Celtic Group Ticket Department for group ticket rate which depending on what we decide would be as follows:

Loge - side/base line - about $115 per ticket or Balcony -corner/baseline - about $65 per ticket

As I stated in an earlier post, we need some indication of interest, you will be given a toll-free number to call on - A SPECIFIC DAY ONLY. You will give credit card info to Celtic ticket manager and identify your group. Next day I will firm the final number and seat/section location. That's it!

Sam, MrKleen and I will post Hotel locations and other options for you to choose from. Whatever anyone feels comfortable with, you will have your choice to choose from. It will be your responsibility to book.

I can say that it would be a great deal of fun and a great opportunity to meet the NICEST CELTIC FANS IN THE WORLD - SAM CELTIC FORUM MEMBERS!

PLEASE JUST GIVE ME AN INDICATION OF INTEREST NOW. A MORE FORMAL NOTICE WILL BE POSTED IN JANUARY.

We have a long-standing request pending for a timeshare exchange in Florida that could einclude the St. Patty's Day Weekend. So, since I prefer to practice what I preach and be firm in my decision, I'll have to opt out of attending the game. However, if the request does not come through (our track record is not good), my wife and would be happy to join the group for dinner and other events that don't require a long-term, up-front commitment (which I think is the perfect way to go, by the way).

I think I would be in for a March 16 game. At least me, possibly family too.

The Long Wharf was good last time so I'd be tempted to book there again, although I'll check Charlestown as well.

Lodge seats sound OK; I've wondered in the past how seating is at that level but it sounds good from those of you who have sat there.

I'm in!

Last time some of us stayed at the Marriott Long Wharf and while it isn't cheap it is in a great location. Not sure if I'll be spending the night but dinner and the game is a lock.

Spike and I went to a game a couple of years ago and had dinner in the North End which was great. I've been out of the Boston area for too long to know the best places to eat but I would second the North End in general.

I am 99% in....my wife is probably 80% if not more.

Keep me informed on date the tickets will be held for us, and I will make a final decision that day....but looking good so far.

I live about 15 minutes from the Garden....so will probably take the train in to North Station....and just need to head back by 1230 when the last train is leaving.

Looking forward to it.

My brother got me 3 tickets for the Bobcats game on the 16th of March for Christmas and he has 3 for him and his 2 kids too....so we'll definitely be there that weekend.
