Re: Dirty Player?
That is just Wade working on his legacy . . . one punk move at a time.
The ref was following the play, just 10 feet away, how could he miss the foul? If the league doesn't wake up to this crap, some player will take it into his own hands some day.

Re: Dirty Player?
It looked like a foul by Sessions that pushed DWade backwards and his leg came up to keep his balance. The foot caught Sessions is the round ones. It does not look intentional.
Having said that, DWade is definitely a cheap shot artist, even if I don't think this was one of them, and I agree with Cowens' solution. I just don't want that player to be a Celtic (there will be suspensions and I don't want to lose anybody, even for a game) but I'd love to see somebody drop him.

I would love to see Wade undercut on one of his dunks. Let his neck get pushed into his spine.

Too bad we can'y get Michael Corleone to orchestrate an assasination of Wade, Lebron, & Kobe the way he did the heads of the 5 Families in the first Godfather!

Is Wade a dirty player? Let's look at video evidence:

After the Miami Heat scored a 105-92 win over the Charlotte Bobcats on Wednesday night, pro wrestling legend and Charlotte resident Ric Flair visited the Heat locker room, where he was greeted with a chorus of "Whooo!"s and dubbed "the creator of swag" by Heat star LeBron James. But perhaps Miami's truest tribute to Flair came during the fourth quarter, when All-Star guard Dwyane Wade broke out one of Flair's longtime favorite moves on Bobcats point guard Ramon Sessions.
No, not the Figure Four. A different longtime favorite:

Yikes. Way to split the uprights, Dwyane. You've done "The Nature Boy" proud.
The beauty part: It was Sessions, not Wade, who got whistled for a reach-in foul on the play. Most gentleman observers would submit that Wade's reach-in was far more damaging, but hey: We're not NBA referees.
Ascribing intent in these situations can be difficult at times, but it sure as shooting looks like Wade meant to swing his left leg up toward Sessions' bathing-suit area; I mean, it's not as if his follow-through was the inevitable physics-demanded result of the bump that preceded it or anything.
And when you consider Wade's past penchant for straddling the line between hard-nosed and rule-breaking play — recall, if you will, Boston Celtics point guard Rajon Rondo's declaration earlier this season that Wade makes "dirty plays," or this collection of questionable moments compiled by Larry Brown Sports — it becomes easier to think that maybe Wade was deliberately acting out. Then again, Wade choosing to do so in full sight of the officials in the fourth quarter of a two-possession game in which he personally was playing great would seem completely counterintuitive, wouldn't it? (See? This is why ascribing intent in these situations can be difficult at times, just like I said a few sentences ago.)

What's truly pathetic about this is that Wade is suspended by the league but didn't even get a flagrant foul in the game.

man 'Natch was dirty in a game when physical brutaility is a part of daily life. Sure HE IS/WAS/ALWAYS will be the dirtiest player in the game, but he did it with style. Wade's a thug, prolly a better comparision would be the nasty boys than The Man... Woooooooo!

Once a punk always a punk! I am surprised it took all these years to call him out on this. Wade is lower then tide scum so what more can you expect!
Hope they call him out on his dirt bag of tricks more often.
Although I root against LJ....he has class and does not resort to thugary!

Re: Dirty Player?
Yea Bob, that is why I said in the first post, "did the ref need glasses" We all have seen so much Wade stuff the last few years and he seems to get a pass on all of it. Think back to our playoff series I think it was year before last, the cheap shot on Pierce, and Rondo both. Kicking Sessions. The Kobe play at the all star game. I am sure there are a lot more that I am forgetting. This guy is a thug in my book and for some reason is thought highly of.bobheckler wrote:tardust wrote:Wade suspended for one game.

Tardust,
Your summary of Wades actions would be enough to have him arrested for assault and battery anywhere in the US. You need no other proof.

Re: Dirty Player?
The Miami Heat say Dwyane Wade didn’t deserve his suspension, is a nice boy
(from Ball Don't Lie)
The Heat lost to Detroit (a game the Heat should be able to win regardless - LOL). The Heat think they are treated unfairly compaired with the rest of the teams? Change the work "unfairly" with "differently" and I will agree. The fact that no fouls have been called on James in two weeks is proof of that!!

(from Ball Don't Lie)
Earlier Friday, BDL's Dan Devine noted that Miami Heat All-Star Dwyane Wade has been suspended one game for kicking Charlotte Bobcats point guard Ramon Sessions in the groin. The punishment surprised very few NBA observers — the league has made it very clear that they dislike violence of that degree, whether the action was intentional or not.
The Miami Heat, however, are not happy. In fact, they issued a statement in disagreement with the fine, stating that Wade is actually a very nice boy and the real victim in most NBA games. From Brian Windhorst for ESPN.com:
The Heat said they disagreed with the suspension and further complained about how their players have been being treated by opposing teams recently. Wade, the Heat said, is one of the players the opposition "takes privileges with." They said they had "made their feelings known to the league office."
The Heat referred to Wade's 10-year record as being "an exemplary player and positive influence" in their dispute of the ruling. The league does not typically explain disciplinary decisions but has reviewed several Wade fouls and actions over the last few seasons without taking further action.
Wade, who will serve his suspension Friday against the Detroit Pistons, said the kick to Sessions was inadvertent.
So, in short, not only does Wade's reputation suggest he would never kick a player in the groin — which happened, even if it was an involuntary reaction — but he's targeted by opponents and gets treated unfairly on a regular basis. Justice has not been served!
This statement seems like a lot of trouble to go through for a suspension that will keep Wade out of a game the Heat should be able to win regardless, but there's clearly some kind of ulterior motive here. While Miami has accepted this particular decision — they're not appealing it — the team also seems to want to ensure Wade gets treated fairly in the future. Never mind that this supposedly fair treatment involves ignoring the growing feeling that Wade blurs the line between competitive and dirty on a regular basis. Plus, this statement certainly isn't going to change the still popular opinion that the Heat stars are a bit petulant.
Oh, and there's one pretty convincing argument against any claims that the Heat aren't treated fairly by officials:LeBron James wasn't called for a foul for more than two weeks, which is pretty much impossible for an NBA player to do. No matter how much the Heat complain, it's going to be tough to feel too badly for them.
