time to talk about Fab Melo again

Post by worcester on Tue Jan 22, 2013 12:55 am

Now that he's averaging 16.6 points, 8.1 rebounds, and 4.4 blocks per game in D league, and now that the Celtics are playing putridly and in desperate need of a big man, regardless of his deficiencies, I do think it's time to start talking about Fab Melo again.

W

A few minutes per game cannot hurt. The sooner the better.

Cow, that's my daughter-in-law and my 2nd of three grandsons. His baby brother was born five weeks ago. The picture's less than two weeks old. Poor mom needs a nap whenever she can get one nowadays.

Cow, I was never quite that lucky. He is one of the smartest, most hard working, unselfish people I know and deserves all the good that comes to him.
His wife is a saint too, completely unspoiled by her good looks.

I'd settle for two or three Celtics wins in a row. I'm still recovering from the Patriots loss.

Better than Collins or Darko already, and best of all, he's already ours! A little Melo in the middle to spell KG - just what the Doc should order.

I THINK ITS TIME!

Bring the kid up, match him with KG...Let KG teach the kid so he has a 1/2 season of NBA experience and he'll be set next year to play a meaningful role.

Hey Sully was taught and he is fast becoming a beast in the NBA. I know Sully had some great skill sets coming in but Melo is quickly developing these skills as well.

It's a good thing that there are three options with the DL. Does he develop more by playing full time in Maine or a few minutes per game with the C's? That's why option 3 is the best. Let him commute to some home games. If he shows anything at the NBA level, great. If not send him back for more experience. The C's only lose if they do nothing.

Cavs a 10 win team killed our defense tonight, we need him, we need a 7 foot shot blocking live body in the middle....were getting our butts kicked regularly all of the sudden, play/develop him, we need him, it ain't happenin. Lets call a spade a spade, we can't even beat the bad teams right now, if you don't play him look at the results!! play him, hes gotta go thru the growing pains just like Sully and AB did, the sooner we get him in, the better, cause he'll eventually add alot of big man play and again, right now we really suck. Look how much better Drummond is now since begining of season, we need alot of that, the sooner the better.

There was a thread here before the winning streak wanting to bring Melo aboard at that time. If we had done it then he would have that many more games already under his belt. Its one of those damn if you do and damn if you don't scenarios. I guess I have always been wanting him brought up simply because Collins is our only center and I am not sure why he is still in the league.

The only thing I am certain is we need to do something differently. We can't keep rolling out the same product every game and expect something to magically change.

Docs outburst the other game was a natural reaction I guess. The only thing about it is he can't make who ever he was referring to , all of a sudden care.

Melos certainly not gonna make us lose anymore games, the starters and bench have proved they can't play with any consistency, chemistry or fire. Our defense can't get it done with or without KG, the only bright spot on defense is Avery Bradley, but hes playing through an injury and can't cover for Rondos defensive shortcomings. Bass tries, but gets beaten pretty regularly, when Terry and Rondo play together is there a worst defensive backcourt pairing?
