ST. PADDY’S DAY WEEKEND – BOSTON CELTICS - TICKET PURCHASE CLOSES MONDAY - ITINERARY
ST. PADDY’S DAY WEEKEND – BOSTON CELTICS - ITINERARY
WHEN – Saturday March 16th
A perfect weekend is shaping up on St Patrick's Day weekend in Boston with the Celtics home and hosting the Char. Bob Cats on Saturday March 16th at 7:30pm at TD Garden.
MEET WHERE – At 4:00 – 4:15pm inside the North Station – Red Auerbach Concourse. There is a plaque hanging in the concourse depicting legendary Celtics coach Red Auerbach.
AGENDA - The agenda would look like this: Meet and proceed to the 4 B’s for drinks and/or dinner around 4:30pm. Finish and walk over to the game, and after the game for those interested, some dessert or drinks or both.
THE 4 B’S LOCATION – 166 Canal Street Boston (617) 720 – 4455
Canal Street is a block that intersects Causeway Street. Canal Street faces TD Garden.
TICKET PURCHASES - We will be purchasing tickets through the Boston Celtic Group Ticket Department.
YOU MUST CALL – You will be individually responsible for purchasing your ticket(s).
You will call the above number and announce that you are part of Sam’s Celtic Forum Group. Give your name and credit card number to:
MR. STEVE HUTCHINSON - Direct: 617-854-8060 or
Celtic Office Number (1-866) 423 – 5849 – Ext. (8060)
Email: shutchinson@celtics.com
He will hold information until Friday February 1st at which time I will tell him to place the order. We will pick ticket up at the will-call window at the Garden the day of the game.
If MR. STEVE HUTCHINSON is not available, please leave your name, telephone number, and organization (Sam’s Celtic Forum) and he will call you back to place the order.
TICKET PRICE & LOCATION - We have decided the following: Balcony -corner/baseline - about $63 - 65 per ticket. Good front rows available.
SECTION LOCATION – We can acquire seats in section 320 – rows 3 & 4. Looking at the seating chart it appears to have good visual sight lines.
OPTIONAL SUNDAY BREAKFAST – For those who dare. We will decide on a location and announce on the board prior to March 16th. Here are a few suggestions:
For good breakfast / brunch spots - here are a few in inner Boston:
• Marriot – Long Wharf - Next To Aquarium - 296 State Street Boston, MA 02109
The Waterline at Marriott Long Wharf is located very nicely, almost across from Quincy Market and on the old waterfront with a nice view. There’s a subway stop about 150 feet from the hotel. They also serve a daily breakfast buffet (not officially called a brunch) from 7:00 am to noon, and they have four prices depending on how much people want to eat: $17.50, $18.50, $21.75, and $25.00 (all including tax but not tip). They have a garage, but they also offer free two-hour valet parking (which means tip only) to patrons of the restaurant. You can see the breakfast menu at: http://tinyurl.com/agr7t4e
• Beacon Hill Bistro - 25 Charles Street Boston, MA 02114 - Phone (617) 723-7575
• North St Grill - North St in the North End
• Coppa, 253 Shawmut Avenue, Boston, 617-391-0902 (in the south end....take the orange line to back bay and walk)
HOTEL SUGGESTIONS & ACCOMIDATIONS - You can get on Travelocity, Orbitz or Priceline and check best rates for hotle/motel in and around Boston.

Re: ST. PADDY’S DAY WEEKEND – BOSTON CELTICS - TICKET PURCHASE CLOSES MONDAY - ITINERARY
112288,
Good job. I have to correct the information for the Courtyard Natick. It's slightly more than 20 miles west of Fenway Park—and a half hour drive time to Fenway (plus another four miles to the TD Garden/restaurant area.
http://tinyurl.com/akkf6zz
If a suburban alternative is desired, I’d prefer the Marriott Courtyard Waltham, which is about half the distance from Boston as Natick is. They’re currently showing availabilities for arrival March 16 and departure March 17 @ $104 (including tax) for two people. We stayed there a week ago, and it was very good, although we stopped short of using the indoor pool.
In fact, my wife has now decided she's going to eat dinner and breakfast with us but will not attend the game. So the two of us plus our two cats will most likely be staying at this hotel. (We have a promotional freebie there.)

Re: ST. PADDY’S DAY WEEKEND – BOSTON CELTICS - TICKET PURCHASE CLOSES MONDAY - ITINERARY
112288,
I was wondering whether Steve did double duty—Celtics and Post.
He called me about 9:30 this morning, and arranged for my ticket. He offered to send it by mail or to leave it at Will Call. I elected mail.
We chatted for a while, and he's a really nice guy—originally from Sandwich on Cape Cod.
Thanks for taking this on your shoulders, 112288.
Sam

Mrkleen,
What a great offer! He was also interested in our forum—especially the fact that it's far more than just a chat room.
After March 16, he definitely merits a letter of thanks.

Guy's,
That's great. A letter to him would be great and probably insure us getting a playoff game or 2 which I would attend. I think also a letter to his boss could help him and Sam's Celtic Forum as an organization.

MrK.........I Love Big Thinkers.
Great Idea. We can draft a letter thanking the Celtics and their tix dept for helping us and give a little pitch/history of Sam's Celtic Forum and how we have Celtic fans from around the nation on our sight.
You never know how it turns out. Most people think these guys are unapproachable, but they really are not, and who knows, it could give a boost to our Forum.

Most of them are just like you and everyone else on this board. The director of business communications for the Celtics grew up with my son. All he ever wanted to do is work for the Celtics. Turned out that his father had a friend who worked for the Celtics back in the late '90's and got him a job there. The kid has worked his way up the ladder. A terrific kid. I love him.
So, I am sure a letter from you guys would be most appreciated. Everyone likes a pat on the back from time to time
