Big Baby Breaks his Foot

Fifth Metatarsal, left foot, against the Knicks.

He's getting a screw put into it and will be out 8-12 weeks.

In 1982 I broke my fifth metatarsal at the base. Instead of casting it - a six week cast - my doctor, the President of the American Osteopathic Association, taped the break in place and told me to do acupuncture on both sides of the break and run e-stim through it everyday. I did so and in three weeks it had healed completely and I ran a 10k.

I'm amazed at what passes for good medicine these days. Maybe Big Baby's foot absolutely needed the screws etc. Maybe not.

I'm guessing Baby's foot has to withstand a lot more pounds (tons?) per square inch than yours did. Just a thought.

Yeah, probably 120 lbs. more.
