My wrapup of the first half is that the Celtics' veteran moves barely outscored the Lakers' energy.

Celtics starters are +4 for the half, and the bench is -2.

Cowens just observed that, after scoring 11 in the first left the game and didn't return until five minutes left in the half. But Cowens said that Jeff didn't get a touch until the 4.5 minute mark after he reentered the game. Rondo's fault? Jeff's fault? Easy Ed MacAuley's fault. Let's blame everyone.

Jeff, Jeff and Jeff- that's everyone....

Dave Cowens is enthusiastic about Bass.  "I love him."  "I'd love to play with him."  "Most consistent shot on the team."  "Tough."  "Good footwork."  "Hits his free throws."

I've noticed that Brandon has really improved on his jab step at the edge of the lane, resulting in more fakeouts and successful drives to the hoop.

I keep hearing how Cowens works for Detroit. If that's true, how come he's available to do color work in Celtics games? I think the Celtics should create a Big Man Toughness Coach's job and force Kelly Olynyk to play one-on-one against Dave after every practice.

Simmons says Rondo was on cruise control in the first half, lurking quietly about halfway toward a triple double.

Twice on the same possession, Rondo drove to within a foot of the hoop and passed back out—right to a Laker, who batted it out of bounds.

Nice tip-in by Sully on a missed Rondo reverse layup. And, on the next possession, Green raced upcourt with the ball and launched one as though he were afraid if he passed the ball, it would disappear. He made the shot and a three on the next show. Is the Good Jeff Jeykll or Hyde?

Both teams success on pick-and-rolls, with Gasol and Wallace exchanging buckets.

The Celtics just had two blocks against on the same possession. Now Jeff Green gets hit in the eye, and they called a timeout. Hope he's okay.

Gasol (14) and Meeks (16) have more than half of the Lakers' 55 points so far. And it's pretty much the Jeff Green show (16) for the Celts, with Wallace next at 8 points. That turnaround jumper of Jeff's works better from the side than straight away.

Jeff's eye is good enough to miss a long, long three-point attempt. The refs missed a double-dribble on Rajon, and he laid it off to Bass for another bullshot that drew a foul.

Now Sully's missing his jumpers. But the Lakers bailed him out with a foul on rebounding action the last time.

Sully two tough offensive bounds on the same play for a putback on the second one. Relentless.

Rondo wound up and telegraphed that last pass; but, fortunately the Lakers just knocked it out of bounds.

And now another bullshot by Bass for the and-one. And all of a sudden the Celts are up by nine again.

Beautiful lead pass from Rondo (Mr. Trick or Treat tonight) to Bayless on the move for the layup. 70-59 Celts.

I guess Kobe blasted the Lakers in a tweet for getting rid of one his "closest teammates" and "psycho competitor."

Rondo just outjumped Kelly for a defensive board, then fed Kelly, who fed Bass for another bullshot. Then Kaman turned Kelly every which way but loose, and Kelly responded by vaking out the Lakers' entire team for a nice drive and layup.

Nic a nice bull-board on the offensive end by Brandon, but the Celts can't capitalize.

Why is Bayless throwing up a floater while running away from the basket?

Bass started out slowly but so far is my MVP of the game. 14 and 7, with a number of "bull plays."
