Nice little floater by Bayless stops a Lakers run.  But Celts are perimeter-happy, and Celts lead sliced to two.  Brad should have called timeout, but the Lakers made a steal, and Brooks hit a breakaway and then stared down the Celtics bench as the Lakers tied the game.

Brooks gets away from Green and hits another one. Now Green gets away from Brooks and hits another one. Lakers lead by one. Now Brooks dives for a held ball with Pressey.

Pressey comes powering upcourt and throws a wild heave from three feet out. Crazy. Kaman puts back his own miss. The crowd's going wild at this Celtics-Lakers game. They must have good memories. Lakers up by three with 6 minutes left. Hill blocks a Wallace layup—the second block by Hill in the last couple of minutes. Schoolyard ball by the Celtics, and the Lakers methodically going to the basket. Kaman hits another one, countered by Steady Eddie Bass. But Farmar comes down and hits a trey. And Steady Eddie hits another jumper. Basemore hits a contested three and the Lakers lead by 7.

Boy, I'm seeing absolutely no leadership by Rondo during this Lakers reversal of fortune. It has become another free lance game for the Celtics, and he's hardly touching the ball.

Now Rondo drives but makes a sort of half-hearted, semi-wild flip and miss. And Kaman levels Sully at the other end.

A Kaman jumper is offset by a Sully putback.  Now an offensive foul on Brooks, but the Lakers have a 7-point lead with 2-3 minutes left. 29-11 Lakers in the first 9+ minutes of the fourth quarter. No answer for Kaman and, before him, Gasol.

Steady Eddie drains another one. But Bazemore just comes down and hits another three. Sully misses another three (love those shots). And Hill hits a putback.

Lakers now taking time off the court before Kaman hits another chippie.  Jeff has hit a 2 and a 3, and the Celts take a timeout to draw up a 7-point play with about 30 seconds left. The play was a long heave.

Final: 101-92 Lakers. How to lose a game. Let me count the ways.

My Celtics MVP was Brandon Bass.  He really put out huge and steady effort.

On the flip side, Rondo played about as bad a game as a PG with 11 assists and only 2 official turnovers can play.  He injected zero life into the team in the second half. Actually, he played only two minutes in the second half. He was on the floor for the majority of that half, but he only played about two minutes. 38-18 Lakers in the fourth quarter alone. 38-18? The tankmeisters broke even tonight, going 1-1.

I'm hearing the echo of my own typing, so I'll close and say, "Nice posting with myself, Sam."  Everyone else had the good taste to avoid this one, and I'm just happy that Bob Heckler could drink himself silly during this one. Actually, I think the Celtics were passing around the joy juice while Brad developed a sore throat at halftime.

On to the next one.
