Pop Named NBA COY
This is a no-brainer, as far as I am concerned.

Kidd?
I mean, really....Kidd?
Are they sure it wasn't Captain Kidd? Jason Kidd? Unbelievable!
Good for Pop. Just cruising along, winning ballgames.

Jason Kidd got one third-place vote, and that's fine. After an abysmal 10-21 start, the Nets went 33-13 and had the best record in the East since January 1 until they lost four out of five at the end in an intentional tank to get matched up with Toronto in the playoffs. That turnaround shows something on his part.
Jeff Hornacek in second would've been a worthy winner, but Pop deserves it for another patchwork magic act putting together his declining old guys with complementary players who win more than they should and wound up with the best record in the league -- a spectacular 62-20 for an unspectacular team.
One guy who didn't get enough attention in the voting is Terry Stotts, the Portland coach, who was sixth. They were 33-49 last season and well out of the playoffs, yet with minimal changes, they went 54-28 and are a solid playoff team this season. He certainly got the most out of that group.
Another guy who should've gotten more votes is Scott Brooks with OKC. He's done a very good job, yet he also got just one third-place vote.

I've never liked the Spurs, but I have a great deal of respect for Popovich.
Their run is incredible, dating back to 1999 til now. The only other team in recent memory to have such a long string of consistent success would be the Patriots.
