Man, watching A. Sherrod and Kyle Draper on the pregame Comcast show (or any time together) reminds me of the old inept comedy team, Frick and Frack.

Nice to watch such an articulate player as Jae Crowder so enthusiastically talking about the great relationship between him and Brad, how hs's motivated to work his butt off for Brad and the team, and how important it is for him to make sure his teammates believe in him because he believes in them.  For once, I agree with A. Sherrod.  "He's a keeper."

Scal's talking about what a key to the game the defense of Avery and Marcus on Tony will be.  That's pretty much a no-brainer, but it's always nice to have a particular perspective reinforced.

And in other news, rain is wet.

Hi Bob.

Now Brad's saying the Spurs are the best basketball he's seen in his adult life.

Not a shocking revelation, but interesting to see nonetheless.

Speaking of rain, we were just eating in a restaurant, and they made a big announcement that spring has officially arrived.  We all toasted one another and then looked out the picture windows to see it snowing once again.

They passed out loaded revolvers as mementos.

I haven't repeated this message recently.  But I think it's particularly appropriate to remind gyso of how much we all appreciate his stewardship of the Game-on Threads.  He has been instrumental in its being upbeat, inviting, and utterly consistent in its on-time availability.  This forum would be far less appealing without gyso's work on these threads and on so many other elements over the years.

Thanks, gyso.  And damn you for leaving all the snow for us.

Lord, I don't know how Avery hits those quick outside shots that look like low-percentage efforts.

So, now that I've said that, Avery will probably miss 5 straight.

Uh oh.

Kawhi Leonard is hitting those shots? that's called trouble.

breakdown of the defense on that Duncan dunk. Bass lost his man. He also bobbled a pass on the other end. That's the 3rd bobble by him in 2 games. I wonder what's going on with his concentration?

S.A appears to take only shots with which they're very comfortable.  If they're not comfortable, they'll find a teammate who's more comfortable.  That's very much a function of what I like to call "shared instinct."  They almost appear to be in each other's heads out there.

I hate to say this because I usually wouldn't so early in a game.  But they're half a step slow on defense, and taking mainly hero shots on offense.  Those two tendencies are suicidal when you're playing a well-oiled machine like the Spurs.

that behind the back pass attempt is not what we need when we're struggling.

That's because they've had the same coach, playing the same system and playing with many of the same players since the last ice age.

It's disheartening to note how many of the Spurs' shots are virtually sure things and, in cases where they're not sure things, they usually draw fouls.

Bradley following Green over the top, left Bass with no choice.

Was that out-of-bounds job one of Avery's inspired, improved passes that I've been reading about?

The one chance the Celtics have in this game is to gain some equilibrium on the defensive and and hope it transfers to the offensive end.  So far, they're terrible at the latter and not adequate on former.
