Celts right now are averaging 45.2 rebounds per game.
That's #11 in the league.
They're also outrebounding their opponents by 1.5 rebounds per game.
Also #11 in the league.
A big difference from the previous 2 seasons where the Celts were one of the worst rebounding teams in the league.

This is having an impact on our defense giving up fewer points.

This is a talented team. Imagine if we could play at full strength, i.e. both Gordon and Morris were available. Consider our top nine players, in no particular order:
1) Kyrie, 2) Hayward, 3) Horford, 4) Tatum, 5) Smart, 6) Brown, 7) Rozier, 8 Morris, 9) Baynes
That is a deep team of, for the most part, versatile players.

And one potential lottery pick is coming via Lakers pick 2018 or Kings pick 2019.

Re: Celts Vastly Improved Rebounding Team
On the positive side of the Cs rebounding much better, there can be many reasons why this is happening.
First could be, that the new roster has been more receptive to being coached better to rebound by Stevens and his staff?
Second could be, this group is so young that they are trying to do everything to get additional playing time?
Baynes may have added a huge degree of toughness to our team's physical approach to rebouding.
Tatum is a very impressive young rebounder.
Etc, etc, etc, etc
On the negative side, rebounding is never totally solved as it is always a season long endeavor. Without any statistical research, I am guessing that all of the good teams every year are at least pretty decent rebounding squads.
Keep up the great work on the boards, Cs.
