Perk's T Rescinded

The Celtics received a major break after last night's disastrous Game 5 loss to the Orlando Magic as the league rescinded Kendrick Perkins' second technical that was called by official Eddie F. Rush. Perkins, who now has six playoff technicals, will be eligible to play in Game 6 tomorrow at TD Garden.

However, the NBA also upgraded Paul Pierce's foul on J.J. Redick in the fourth quarter was upgraded to a Flagrant 1 after Pierce shoved Redick chasing a loose ball.

The Celtics likely will not have news on the conditions of Glen Davis or Marquis Daniels until tomorrow morning. Both will undergo neurological tests to determine whether they can play after sustaining concussions in Game 5.

Not that it really matters but it would have looked better for the league and been more logical for them to rescind the first one (together with Gortats then maybe).

Upgrading Pierces foul was logical considering they did that to Howards foul.

Good news for the Celtics in general.

Makes sense about upgrading Pierce's foul.

Great news! Now he'll get suspended during the Finals instead!

Seriously, that call was a joke, but no surprise, just as it's no surprise that it got rescinded.

Things are going to be called very differently in Game 6. They weren't going to leave the Cs w/o Perk for that game, that's for sure.

And at the rate Perk has been going- 6 Ts in 16 games- he will get suspended during the Finals. He will def get one more T at some point.
