Report: Center John Bohannon to join Celtics training camp


Bohannon arrives in Boston after a season with the Maine Red Claws.

The Boston Celtics have signed center John Bohannon to an Exhibit 10 contract, per CelticsBlog’s own Keith P. Smith.

Bohannon played for the Maine Red Claws of the NBAGL last season.


The Celtics continue to build their roster with garnering Affiliate Player rights for the Red Claws.

Bohannon played 43 games for the Maine Red Claws, the Celtics G-League affiliated team, in the 2018-19 season. The 6’11” center averaged 7.9 points on 52.9% shooting, 2.0 assists, and 1.1 blocks while playing just under 23 minutes per game, according to Baketball-Reference.com. Per Smith, the contract is designed to set Bohannon up for another season with the Red Claws.

If this guy has been signed just because he is tall, I am confused. Hope he can play at least a little bit even if he just helps in summer camp

he was signed because he plays at Maine and is a warm body for camp.

He'll be cut and sign at Maine again and get a camp salary for his trouble.
