After All-Star worthy performances the two Js couldn't do b2b. That is indicative of where they are in their development. To be great (maybe even All-Stars?) they have to be able to turn it on every game. 19 fgas between the two of them isn't going to cut it.

Styles make fights, the Cavs have no legit defenders, it was too easy for 2 J’s to go off, Raptors have very good wing defenders even without Gasol and Siakim, can’t believe how talented Boucher is defensively, OG is another very good defender, and Ibaka killed us all game. Their backcourt is tough as well as Van Fleet and Lowry went off on scoring binges too many times. Thank the basketball gods Kawhi left, I think he made a huge mistake, the Raptors line up has more talent than the Clippers IMHO. GH’s shot is off, but he was great defensively, can’t believe how few shots Tatum took. Smart looked rusty, you can do all the conditioning, but you still need the games to really get in game shape, he should be better next time.

Yes, it was a clunker. No signs of fire from anybody. I think we would've lost to any decent team.
On the bright side they've got it out of their system and will show fire and get W for the next 7-10 games.

The Celtics were off their games but they got help from the Raptors who played terrific basketball ball and hit every shot each and every time Boston made a run.

The defense was a step slow but those guys were making contested shots all night.

I thought the mismatch in the middle was significant.  Serge put up 20 and 10 while Theis was a non factor at both ends.  

They won the small ball game.

They killed us on the glass.

He does better on the slower lumbering 5’s that he has a speed advantage on, with Ibaka he doesn’t have that advantage, plus Ibaka has more length and athleticism than Theis. When Ibaka has his jumper working he’s a tough match up for anybody, also very good elite defender.

If RWill could ever stay fully healthy enough to work on his body and game, he could evolve into a player very similar to Ibaka, as he has even more raw athleticism. We are gonna need some type of player/big like that going forward to get to the ultimate destination.

I agree. Could use his length and athleticism.

Celts have a tough road game against the Hornets. They need to refocus on defense. Their offense will be fine.
