Isaiah Thomas released
I cant post the link but just saw on nba REALGM that our buddy IT was released from the clippers today.
I'm very much ok with the loss of Poirer to bring back Thomas.
then go find another big..

Re: Isaiah Thomas released
As much as Thomas was a success story in his time in Boston, I do not think that he would be a positive addition at this time even though I would say that he would be more of a contributor than Poirier.
IT just dribbles the air out of the ball, and on a team that really has not had even one player hang on to the ball all season, I see his style on offense a problem even with the second team. Ball and player movement have been strengths of the 2020 team, and I would fear that IT would mess this up.

Re: Isaiah Thomas released
not sure why we'd need another scorer
Tatum- 22.1 pt/G
Kemba- 21.8
Brown- 20.2
Hayward-17.2
we're scoring an average of 112.6 pt/game now
scoring is NOT our problem.
IMO, we maybe could use a veteran PF. but one could argue that we are fine there by our defensive and rebounding numbers also.
I get the fact that we might feel Ainge did IT dirty, but he's always been a BIG liability on defense and its worst now for him.
I'd pass on him now, as I think it will hurt more than help.

Barring Dwight Howard going back to the Lakers (and he never would have gone there unless M'Bron was there), who significantly has backtracked to the team from whence they came? Just don't recall if it is a common occurrence. Also eliminate the the one-day signing for those "wanting to retire as a ... from the equation.

Antoine Walker
That's just one example. I don't think it's common.

Re: Isaiah Thomas released
IT is one of my all time favorite Celtics, but I don’t see him returning and making a difference.
Would love to see him do well with another team and get a decent contract for the next couple of years.

Re: Isaiah Thomas released
I posted in another topic recently that while IT would help give us the bench scoring we need to find, he probably would want a long-term role and bigger minutes than he would get in Boston.

Chris Forsberg @ChrisForsberg_
Danny Ainge on @Toucherandrich suggests there’s nothing on buyout market that interests team now, including Isaiah Thomas, who Ainge praises but notes he’s uncertain if fit is right with team. Ainge said team will continue to evaluate who is available and see if anyone fits.

Re: Isaiah Thomas released
I said it before and I will say it again. I love IT, but this is Kemba's team now (and Jason). I do not want chants from the balcony yelling "WE WANT IT" Too uncomfortable a situation for all concerned. I wish him the best, hope he finds a team that will keep him longer than a half a season. It is truly sad that he came "this" close to getting what he deserved here and then got hurt. I love the guy, he has a big heart
