Re: Fire Scal Hire Perk!
What surprised me a bit was, last night, Perk referred to Boston as "my home town".
He's from Beaumont, Texas (just in case the accent didn't give it away). He played 7 seasons in Boston, 6 1/2 in OKC, 1 in Cleveland and a bit in NOP, but he called Boston his "home town".
I think we all remember how he cried when he found out he had been traded to OKC. Some of us assumed it was because he wanted to stay here with KG and Pierce and Rondo but now we know better. It was because his heart was here.
Bring back Perk! Send Scal to the studio, move Grande to the TV (after Mike decides to hang'em up), send Draper back to Philly so he can be with "his guys" and give Michael Holley a shot as the moderator in the studio. I'm ok with a triumvirate of Holley, Mannix and Scal in the studio, with Mike (or Grande) and Perk (except for when Tommy wants to do the games) at the arenas.

I like Perk, I like adding him to 5 or 6 games a year. But Scal is getting better every night and is able to analyze a game at a level Perk just cannot. if you want funny stories and hot takes, Perk is your guy. But in growing into the role of color man - Scal is a lot better.

Re: Fire Scal Hire Perk!
I got nothing from Perkins on the broadcast myself.
not sure what all the fuss is here about him?
a bunch of wow did you see that and dumb ass talk about some stupid uncle doesn't cut it for me.
and I agree Scal is growing in his role. I personally prefer sports announcers to be fair with what they see and not overtly biased.
Scal is getting much better at explaining subtle rules of the game (and changes that have been made) as well as the little things (like Theis' screens inside every game) that make the games much better to watch, IMO.
I also like it that he seems to be toning down some of the "awe shucks" crap too.

I think Scal gets a big measure of disrespect, and I'm at a loss to understand it.
He knows the game, certainly played it at it's highest level, and injects some personality into the broadcast. He sure looks like Tommy's heir apparent to me.
I'd stick Perk in the booth often as well. He seems to have formed a bond with the organization and the city, and he doesn't shy away from speaking his mind.

There’s definitely room for both, Tommy and Mike are not getting any younger....
