10/29/09 Celtic Trivia
Many players have little routines they go thru before shooting a foul shot. We all remember Dennis Johnson. What did he do prior to shooting his foul shots?
Thanks to Pete for this question.

beat,
Trick question.
The first AND last true positional switch hitter in the AL to win the MVP was Yankee great Mickey Mantle.
However, some years later, Vida Blue won the MVP and was listed as a switch hitter even though he was really a pitcher and hardly batted at all.

beat,
You need harder questions for Bob, how about blood types for certain players, I think this is the only direction to go. Or, mother's maiden names, first car, etc.

I think Bob should not answer any questions for at least an hour.
after that it's far game.
maybe the players gpa in college?
Number of arrests?
Convictions?
I have no clue how to stump him.

beat and pete,
I'll take a chill pill and let others take a few whacks at the pinata first.
bob
Convictions is too easy especially if the perp, er "subject", is Ron Artest.

Re: 10/29/09 Celtic Trivia
LACELTFAN, players uniforms did not have numbers when the Babe broke in to the big leagues. I know that you know we all knew that . On the subject of trivia I am going off topic and sharing with you guys one of my favorite all-time sports trivia questions, I hope we've got some boxing fans here. Who is the only Heavyweight champion to LOSE every title fight he was ever in.

Re: 10/29/09 Celtic Trivia
In 1929, the Yankees became the first team to use uniform numbers regularly. Since Ruth batted third in the order, he was assigned number 3. The Yankees retired Ruth's number on June 13, 1948.

Re: 10/29/09 Celtic Trivia
All correct, as I said it's an old trivia question and has made the rounds....I still like it though because when I first heard it I didn't know why Ruth was #3 and Gehrig was #4.....Good job, guys....
