Geesh these answers are all WAY better than the right one!

Actually it is a sort of trick question.

After every made field goal once the ball passes thru the net it is considered dead. ( in the NBA the clock stops at this point near the end of a game) but otherwise the clock continues to run and the ball is not considered live until the inbounding team secures possession for the throw in.
