Re: Rondo to the Lakers?
I think the Lakers could get a point guard without giving up Gasol.
Would Boston make this trade?

Re: Rondo to the Lakers?
The Lakers already traded Gasol - and had him returned to them by the NBA.
He is damaged goods, he plays no defense, and he is soft as a sneaker full of mud
NO THANKS.

Re: Rondo to the Lakers?
Rondo's poor outside shooting and poor free throw shooting is not what LA needs. LA has shooting problems which would be made worse if they traded for Rondo.
His youth and speed is what would help LA.
Overall, NO THANKS. LA can do better while keeping their big 3 together.

Re: Rondo to the Lakers?
My gag reflex is working overtime. I still have a ridge of hair around the top of my head, sort of like Friar Tuck. I'd hate to lose what's left watching Avery Bradley as our floor general major domo on a regular basis. Or Dooling for that matter. And Moore makes three. And rebuilding around Pau Gasol wouldn't be a follicle fix for me either.
In my view, PG is the most important position on the team because that position has such a direct influence on the other four positions. Seriously, I'd have my head over the rail of a floundering ship if we not only lost our only real PG but also bolstered the PG position of our traditional antagonist.
I'd greatly prefer center by committee (with KG as at least a part time member of that committee) than PG by committee if the committee consists of Bradley, Moore and Dooling.

Hi,
Thankfully here there's unanimous NO.
Yesterday I tried to reason it on BDC. A lot of people see it as Bird, Kevin and Parish are coming through that door. Oh well...
My line of reasoning was that you don't swap 25 y/o elite PG for a 31 y/o PF who's on downward side of his career, especially at the verge of rebuilding the team. Plus apparent inequality between RR and AB, EM or KD.
Glad to hear TJ's opinion on the matter.

Re: Rondo to the Lakers?
Hmm, I wonder if they can finalize the trade before tonight's game? It sounds like it's practically a done deal.
Let me see if I understand the writer's logic.
1. Rondo appeared in "Just Wright," a movie about basketball player recovering from a career-threatening injury.
2. The cast of "Just Wright" also included Queen Latifah.
3. Queen Latifah appeared in "Beauty Shop."
4. The cast of "Beauty Shop" also included Kevin Bacon.
5. Kevin Bacon played a basketball coach in "The Air Up There."
6. Rondo will be traded to the Lakers.
Voila!

Re: Rondo to the Lakers?
Wait, it's even spookier.
Rondo --> "Just Wright" --> Queen Latifah
Queen Latifah --> "Beauty Shop" --> Kevin Bacon
Kevin Bacon --> "Christmas in Rockefeller Center (2001)" --> Eddie Cibrian
Eddie Cibrian --> "CSI: Miami" (2002 episode "Point of Impact") --> Pau Gasol
That's Rondo to Gasol in only four degrees of separation. I tellya, it can't be a coincidence.

Rondo plays for the Celtics.
Brian Shaw used to play for the Celtics
Brian Shaw used to coach Gasol
Did it in 3.

Re: Rondo to the Lakers?
I'd love to have Gasol, squishy as mud and all, but not for Rondo.
Wow. When was the last time we had this kind of unanimity on this board? When was the last time any board had this kind of unanimity?
Rondo + parts for Paul? Yes. Rondo for Gasol? NO. Rondo for Gasol + parts? That would require a 3rd team because there are no parts on LAL that I really covet and would make this deal smell better to me.

Gasol smells he's an unwashed Euro soft. Rondo is tough Don't EVER make that deal. To borrow from another thread, Rondo should be the NEXT pure Celtic and Pierce, by no means should be the last!

Rondo was baptized in the Charles River when he came to Boston, so that washed his Sun Sins Away. He's pure in my sight, and probably the Lord's as well. Listen, Red just whispered in HIS ear.

This "pure" junk needs a permanent rest. Bill Russell was drafted by the St. Louis Hawks. Sam Jones was drafted by the Minneapolis....wait for it...Lakers. No 'taint a taint in the slightest.

Re: Rondo to the Lakers?
I'm getting sick of Rondos game, he deserves not making the all star team. Tonight Kobe left him so much room and to see him brick the few shots he took and the ineffective way he ran us in that 4th. Danny should get whatever best young player he can get. We were better with Pierce as the point forward.

Re: Rondo to the Lakers?
I'll give Rondo and JON for Bynum. That takes care of our big man needs and we get a point guard next summer without ass k............ing Howard to come to Boston.
