Just read that NBA thinks about putting companies logos/ads on the jerseys.
I think - why not. What do you think?

Agree on both points.

That's what they do around the world in just about every sport. Soccer is a big one.

So, taxpayers foot the bill to build the stadium, season ticket holders pay outrageous prices (not just for tickets but for parking, beer, hotdogs, etc), advertisers pay big bucks to run ads on TV.

Now they want us to look at the Boston Cumbies? The Filene's Celtics?

And then the owners will bitch about how they're losing money...

Could be worse. It could be the Grumman's Chinese Lakers.

ive thought about this sort of thing before and i think its inevitable that sometime in the not too distant future some major corperation will decide its not enuff to just have an areana named after their company, but that they ought to own the areana and all the sports teams that play their.

whats this mean for the diehard fan?

someday when Wyc's children decide the price is just too good, when the owners of th Bruins decide to sell off to the same company that just bought the Patroits & Red Sox Boston fans will find themselves watching their sports named after McDonalds products.. and we'll find ourselves at basketball games Cheering on the Boston McNuggets, watching the New England Big Mac's win the Superbowl, and seeing another chapter in the Boston McRibs playing the New York Subways in their never ending rivarly and the Boston mcFuries tearing it up out on the Ice...
