We need to finish these guys so Pierce can have a few more days of rest.

I'm no doctor. However, this is what concerns me about both short term and long term success of a Celts playoff run this year. The MCL explains the movement and lift problems. How can Pierce be expected to go full tilt knowing he has that kind of pain and discomfort with those kinds of restraints. The Hawks pulled one out the other night and you know it gave them a certain amount of confidence coming into tonight's game. The Nuggets beat LA in the Staples Center the other night so a win over the Hawks tonight for the C's especially considering Pierce's physical state is NOT in the bag. I worry that playing the better part of the next month would not be something that Paul could do up to his usual standards under the circumstances. Ray's got the bone spurs so he's only able to give but so much. Bradley's shoulder pops out as much as an Eggo Waffle pops up from a toaster. KG nursing a hip flexor can only go in 6 min. spurts. Bass & Pietrus are nursing hamstring problems and I don't think Pietrus is completely over the concussion he suffered about 6 weeks ago. If Boston gets past Atlanta Chicago or Philly looms with Philly the far healthier, then Miami. Considering the physical state of our guys, it's like fighting Paccio and Mayweather back to back 12 rounders. I hope the C's can do it, but I won't be angry or disappointed if they don't. They are the Celtiics and will give it their all to the end!

Pierce (MCL sprain) expected in Game 6

The Boston Celtics clarified the injury status of starters Paul Pierce (sprained left MCL) and Avery Bradley (strained left rotator cuff) Thursday, but noted both players went through shootaround this morning and are expected to play in tonight's Game 6 of an Eastern Conference first-round series against the Atlanta Hawks.

Pierce suffered the MCL sprain during a shootaround before Game 4 in Boston and further aggravated it in a collision with Josh Smith that night. He looked hobbled at times in Game 5, but the Celtics clarified the injury status to seemingly eliminate any bad information about a potentially more serious ailment.

Bradley injured his left shoulder in Game 3 and coach Doc Rivers said he had endured multiple dislocations this season. Bradley was a game-time decision in Game 4, but said his shoulder was feeling better before Game 5 and should be fine moving forward so long as there's no reaggravation.

All 15 of Boston's players went through shootaround Thursday and all are expected in their normal roles for Game 6. Boston leads the series 3 games to 2 with a chance to close out the Hawks on its home turf.

It's the C's court smarts and resolve against the Hawks athleticism.

We need to close it out tonight at home, no doubt. We may have wanted rest, but we'll need to leave it all out on the floor like it's game 7. Then we can see what shape we're in for the next round. Compounding injuries may be a risk, but going back to Atlanta already wounded anyway could make for a low percentage shot at a good outcome.

Someone else will have to step up. Pierce did it in Game 2 when Rondo was out. With Pierce hobbling, it's someone else who needs to step up. You know that if Rondo is on his game, we will win.

NYCelt-I agree, especially when it is Paul Pierce. No doom and gloom here, the power of positive thinking will go a long way. Celts take this game and get a four day rest. Then they play on Mother's Day and make me very happy and proud to be a die hard Celtic fan!!!!!

If the Celtic and Philly win tonight, they play in Boston Saturday night.

Philly could be tough. But you play who you end up playing. I'd have to believe though that Chicago is a tougher team for to play against. Even w/o Noah or Rose, that team has such good team chemistry. they're tough to play against. with pierce hobbled, i don't want him matched up with Deng. that's a tough match up for him.

Chicago will win.......bet on it!

Pierce always has a tough time with Deng, who I think is one of the most under rated player in the league

deng might be now. he wasn't though for awhile. he never really lived up to his talent. never became the type of scorer that he should have begun. but he's a heck of a defensive player. he's a nice 3rd or 4th best player on a team. for the Bulls, he's that which is perfect.

That is such bull if we have to play Saturday night, I hate David Stern.
