Since the playoff system went to 16 teams (8 per conference) Name the only 8th seeded team and the year they did it, to make it to the NBA finals?

I think it was the Knicks with Spreewell, Ewing, Larry Johnson.
Not sure of the year...1998 or 99 I think...could have been 2000.

Strike year. 98-99 remember Sprewell couldn't feed his family and the game Ewing got together that was originally to benefit the poor players! That sort of blew up in their faces!
