While touring with the Boston Celtics, Red Auerbach, the team's coach, bumped into three of his players, each with an attractive young woman on his arm, in their hotel lobby -- at five o'clock in the morning. When one of the players introduced his young companion as his "cousin," Auerbach merely nodded politely. "We were just on our way to church," the player continued. "I couldn't take that," Auerbach later remarked. What did he do? "I fined him twenty-five dollars," the coach explained, "for insulting my intelligence."
