The Celtic organization announced late this afternoon that All Star center Kevin Garnett will miss the remainder of the regular season and post season due to stress fractures of the cerebral cortex of his injured ankle. The injury was discovered during a followup examination using computed tomography (CT scan) at New England Baptist Hospital earlier today. World renowned orthopedic radiologist, Dr. Barry Surefoot discovered the fractures and quickly relayed his findings to the Celtic organization. When questioned about the latest set back, President of basketball operations Danny Ainge declined comment but quipped, what would Pat Riley do in a case like this, complain.

A Celtic team spokesperson announced that Fab Melo, first round draft pick by the Celtics is being recalled from the Maine Red Claws and will be available to play when the Celtics return home to play Detroit on Wednesday. The injury marks another set back to the already depleted Celtic roster. Both Rajon Rondo and Jarad Sullinger were lost for the remainder of the season. Rondo suffered an ACL injury to his knee which required reconstructive surgery, while Sullinger under went back surgery to repair herniated discs in his lower back.

It was the injured cerebral cortex in his ankle that gave it away for me. How smart can one man's ankles be?

I thought it was well done, especially calling the doctor Barry Surefoot!

When I saw that KG's cerebral cortex was in his ankle I thought that might be the reason he thinks so quickly on his feet.

Despite my medical schooling, I fell for it. I always knew KG had more bball IQ in his feet than I had in my whole body, so why not a cerebral cortex in his ankle?

I was a afraid you would be the first one to see the my humor and bogus medical information. However if you see my latest post today from CSNE they now are saying KG has bone spurs in the ankle....just great.

I posted the following on another thread as well:

Bone spurs do not reduce in size on their own, and the tissue surrounding them gets swollen in response to activity.
