Doc Rivers still "mulling over options" for the future

Well, if you were looking for assurances or commitments from Doc Rivers, you have at least a little longer to wait.

Boston Celtics head coach Doc Rivers still hasn't decided whether to return for another season, according to the Orlando Sentinel. The newspaper's George Diaz, who sat down with Rivers for breakfast Thursday in Winter Park, Fla., reported just one line about the coach's future: "...Doc is still mulling over his options for next season..."

That's all he said on the matter, but he did break down some of the Finals ...if you care.

As I said, Doc's yearly contract runs to the end of June.

I think Doc is waiting to see what direction or choice Danny makes with the team....blow it up or keep it somewhat together. That will all come down to the last week in June.......with the draft coming up and with Pierce's contract....do they pick it up or not........even KG......do they move him to the West Coast.

If it is a blowup the team approach....Doc is gone.......I hope not but if not Lawrence Franks would be a good choice to come in and work with the new team.

Smart move on Doc's part if that's the case. But why would Danny drag it out? If he's going to blow it up, he would have made some internal moves to indicate that. He has to tell Doc what's going on. He wouldn't lead him on unless DA has no clue what he is going to do yet. Doc's contract is conveniently set at 6/30 though. Maybe a little check and balance with DA.
