Terrence Williams Waived

Isn't it obvious Bob? Since we have a glut of point guards, Danny dumped T-Will to make room on the roster for a power forward.

With the 2 draft picks and waiving Williams, Boston still has 16 players on the 2013-14 roster.
 
Did anyone notice that Bogans is making over $5m (guaranteed) next season?
I am assuming that is so the salaries would match up to fit within the CBA guidelines.

Terrance Williams getting waived is no shocker, considering what is going on in Boston right now with Hernandez. Too much left unsaid. I know we have a glut at guard, but if they really wanted him they would have found a way of keeping him.

Williams was waived for financial reasons and I'm sure they didn't see him in their future plans. Boston saves guaranteeing money to Williams by waiving him by 6/30.

He was an OK if inconsistent stand-in when we needed one, but that's about it.

Is there something special about Bogans, could we not do the same thing for Blatche? I would much rather pay Blatche that money than Bogans.

The Celtics waived Terrence Williams on Sunday, according to a team release.

The move doesn't come as a major surprise. Williams had a nonguaranteed $947,907 contract for 2013-14, but the first $200,000 was set to become guaranteed after Sunday.

And with an abundance of players heading to Boston once the blockbuster trade with the Brooklyn Nets goes through, the Celtics freed up a roster spot by cutting ties with the 6-foot-6 guard-forward.

Williams, 26, appeared in 24 regular-season games for Boston last season, averaging 4.6 points, 1.8 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game. He was arrested in May for allegedly brandishing a gun during a visitation exchange with the mother of his child in Kent, Wash., though charges have yet to be filed in the case.
