That was a really tough season for the Celtics and rookie coach Tom Heinsohn. Aside from having lost the best center in history and one of the purest scorers in history, they had four veterans (Howell, Siegfried, Sanders and Nelson) who were nearing the end of their careers. And the fact that Heinsohn called High Henry "Fink" in practice says it all about the new guy in the middle. Getting close to a team featuring Wes Unseld, Gus Johnson, Jack Marin and Earl Monroe was a moral victory for those Celts.

Also the season that Hondo lead the team in points (24.2), rebounds (7.8 ) and assists  (6.8 ). Not sure if that had ever been done before this or since.
