MY NOTE:  Celtics with 73 points at the half.  Yeah, today's game is just so much faster because the players are just so much athletic (hah).  No handchecking, 3pt shooting and today's teams would be showcased on Sportcenter if they scored 73 in a half.

Weren't the 76'ers 9-73 that year? Poor Hal Greer having to go out that way.

And bearing the stigma of having thrown the pass that resulted in the most famous steal in the NBA history.

Of all the stats that are recorded today but weren't recorded back when, the one I'd most like to see for the old days would be fast break points.  Especially for the Celtics, but for all the other teams as well.  The thing that makes that stat as interesting as it is now is because it's the exception rather than the rule.  Way back, it was closer to being the rule rather than the exception.
