Gigi Signs With Fenerbace

I wish him well.  I liked his game when he was here. Was grateful for the chance Brad gave him (which he didn't get in Detroit) and never bitched.

1.7M Euros/year, long term contract (not sure how long).

That's almost $1.9M/year at today's exchange rate.  Cheap by NBA standards for a proven player and winner.  No wonder they want to play here.

I am sure that he would not have made any too much more if he had found a place to play here in the NBA so 1.9 M
is not too shabby. In Europe, he may also be getting a place to live, cars, etc, etc to go along with his salary. Also, the big plus is that he is getting a long term contract in Europe where he was likely to only get a one year here where he would have been easily traded forcing him to move on again and then probably again as well as have to find another job next summer. Security is not a terrible thing.

Agree with Bob, that he did a good job last season when in Boston.

I've been there twice. You can get good food, and there are some beautiful minarets, mosques, etc. If one goes on a tour, there's a certain protection factor. But, if a non-native really tries to mix with the locals and get a feel for the real Turkey, caveat emptor.
