One for Sam..

In the past I've enjoyed posting  video on the Game On! threads with the idea of expressing a certain mood, the gino dancing video video after  win/ Badfinger during the KG era..

this season I thought I'd offer up a video that sort of expresses how I feel about the Celtics. As I've mentioned before I've always used being a Celtic fan as a diversion from regular life, and its been especially helpful during  some of lifes rougher roads. No matter what the w/l record was being a Celtic fan is was and always will be an enjoyable part of my life- and the commoderty found on this board has only enhanced that experience.

I think that's what Sam hoped for when starting this board and as has been noted he was very proud of what its become. For over a decade Sam (and many of you) has been a part of the experience i've had as a Celtics fan. I cant speak for the rest of you but my life is richer for having Sam (like the Celtics) having been a part of it.

I've been thinking long and hard about what song to dedicate to this season and have finely found one that I feel expresses exactly how I feel about being a Celtics fan, but having had Sam in a small measure be  part of my life. I'll be trying to have this following video posted before each game this season.

Oh Matty, being the biggest crybaby on this forum, I am sitting here crying as I listened to this post. You hit the nail right on the head. The Celtics were a way of life for Sam. He and I talked about it so many times. They have seen me through some of the toughest times of my life, always being there to pick me up. Lying in hospital beds, watching them on the west coast swing, watching from a bed and finally realizing that I was supposed to be at the game I was watching, tickets on my bureau, so many many times I cannot write about, all the way back to my 20's! Now that is a long time ago!!!!!

I said the other night it was really difficult to turn on my computer and come to the forum knowing that the person who encouraged me so much was no longer here. But, the rest of you are, and that is what made me
turn it on. As the only woman here every game, I am honored at the way all of you have accepted me, and that began with Sam.

I have gone on enough, I just want to thank you for putting everything in it's proper place. Sam will live on in all of our minds and hearts for different reasons.

I think I can safely speak for everyone here when I say we are the ones who should be honored by your presence.  You know the game as well as anyone, have seen and can teach the history of The Celtics and can thoughtfully debate events with the best.

You mention being the only woman here every game?  Well, you're our kind of girl!
