My hope is that the Sixers take away lessons from their last matchup with this team and try to play with (at least) equal defensive intensity.

That bench though Grant, Wood, Holmes, McConnell… 2 second rounders and 2 undrafted rookies. If we win this game, it should cool off the Celtic hype a bit.

Man am I glad that Isiah Thomas isn’t projected to be our offensive centerpiece. Pretty similar to your favorite food being a cheeseburger. It’s nice, but if that’s as good as it gets you’re missing out.  (MY NOTE:  I wonder if he still feels that way 27 points later)

The Celtics' Nets pick ..... The thought of the Celtics getting a top 3 pick or even the number 1 pick makes my physically nauseous, and I’m terrified of the the media crowning the Celtics rebuild vs the Sixers process if that happens.

A Boston team that’s 4th or 5th in the East this year, with a solid young group, who lands a franchise caliber pick/player, in addition to all their other assets, and has a ton of cap space, automatically becomes a free agent destination again, and they have the opportunity to get exponentially better very quickly. They become a player for most free agents in the league at that point, because they’re a winning team with a lot of flexibility.

They’ve never once been a free agent destination.

Boston’s reputation on race doesn’t help them.

The Celtics have built a team of roleplayers. They are going to be great at getting into the playoffs and losing in the first round.

They don’t really have a nice young core. They have Marcus Smart and a bunch of 7th men. We’ve got better picks and higher end young talent.

This game is going to be ugly.The Celtics might be the surest sixth seed in history, but they’re miles ahead of where the Sixers are right now. Hold your children and tell them you love them, that the night is almost over.

Amir Johnson, Jae Crowder, Marcus Smart, Avery Bradley, Kelly Olynyk, Tyler Zeller, Jared Sullinger, Jonas Jerebko, and, yes, Isaiah Thomas, these guys make them a 50 game winner. All above average. The sooner Stevens figures out that Lee isn’t good (though I like their strategy of making the most of him, running offense through him), the better.

Bradley & Smart are gonna make Canaan's life miserable tonight ... I don’t know if he’s going to be able to get the ball over halfcourt. Avery Bradley is a good player. Now I see why Hinkie was so interested in him a couple of years ago. I also like Mickey that they picked up in the 2nd round. Celtics have an interesting rebuild running parallel to the 76ers. It will be interesting to see who gets their stars first and then a ring. I throw Orlando into that group as well.

Overall Good Our NBA players (all three of them) look terrific. The Celtics haven’t intentionally injured anyone. Marcus Smart hasn’t violently attacked anyone. If this wasn’t against Boston I’d be happy.

What makes the Celtics a tough team to beat is that they built a team to counter the current trend in the NBA. Defensively, they are a really good perimeter defensive team that is best suited to counter small ball with how they pressure the ball handlers and create havoc with the passing lanes, while most of their big men are mobile enough to defend the PnR. They aren't built to defend a guy like Jah, so Jah had his way and they have to double team him. But they are really successful in pressuring our ball handlers, specially our big guys.   (MY NOTE:  Well whaddya know!  This guy actually "gets it")
